Carl provided outstandinf customer service after my car was serviced and the hub cap came off. Carl said come in and we will take care of it and guess what??? he did!!! 8:30AM on a Tuesday with a drive fu was serviced and the hub cap came off. *Very Disappointing Leasing Experience and Lack of Customer Care* I leased a 2025 RAV4 from Toyota Manhattan Beach on December 24, 2025, on Christmas Eve. I arrived close to closing time and was t Customer Care* I leased a 2025 RAV4 from Toyota Manhattan Beach on December 24, 2025, on Christmas Eve. I arrived close to closing time and was the last customer of the day. I was genuinely excited to lease a new vehicle for my wife. The salesperson offered a test drive, but since it was already late on Christmas Eve and the dealership was closing, I declined. I was already familiar with the vehicle—my brother owns a RAV4, a close friend has one, and I previously leased a Camry LE—so I felt comfortable moving forward. The salesperson showed me a couple of options. I specifically did not want the base model and chose an upper trim level, assuming it would include additional convenience features. After driving just one or two miles home and parking the car, the very first thing my wife noticed was that the trunk is completely manual. There isn’t even a trunk release button inside the vehicle—something my older base-model Camry LE had many years ago. This immediately became a serious issue because my wife is currently undergoing physical therapy for a wrist condition and may even need surgery. Manually opening and closing the trunk repeatedly is painful and impractical for her. The next morning, I called the dealership and explained the situation, requesting to return the vehicle. I was told that it would now be considered a “used car” and that I would lose money. This was shocking, considering the vehicle was purchased the night before and had only been driven home—less than the distance of a typical test drive. Despite clearly explaining my wife’s medical condition and how critical this feature was for us, the dealership showed no flexibility and made no effort to help. We were essentially told the deal was done. This left us feeling completely stuck with a brand-new vehicle that does not meet our needs. What makes this even more frustrating is that cars have had hands-free or button-operated trunks for years—some even open with a leg gesture. I simply cannot understand how, in 2025, a vehicle lacks even a basic trunk release button, especially when it is a trim level above the base model. When I raised this concern with the salesperson, I was told that what I leased was the “base version of the higher trim,” which honestly felt like a bad joke. The vehicle is still sitting in front of our house and has barely been touched since. I chose Toyota because I trusted the brand—I’ve leased Toyota before, my brother owns one, and I had a high opinion of Toyota’s quality and customer care. Unfortunately, this experience has completely changed that. More
