I took my scion in for the second time because of a brake-noise. It is there today 9.6.12 and I talked to a tech just a while ago. A consistent growling noise as I drive slowly and come to a stop. brake-noise. It is there today 9.6.12 and I talked to a tech just a while ago. A consistent growling noise as I drive slowly and come to a stop. The noise has been there but very slight since around 35 000 miles. I had the brake pads replaced and the rotors turned about 10 000 miles ago. The car now is going on 58 000 miles. I don't believe that the pads or rotors is the cause but the techs are not able to reproduce the noise and suggests replacing the pads and turning the rotors. So I ask if they will warranty that this particular noise will go away if I spend an additional $ 350.00 plus tax in addition to the $ 1695.00 I have already spent for my extended warranty the answer is no. I would like for: A: the techs to be able to reproduce what I hear every day B: Tell me that $ 2000.00 plus of warranty and additional service in to a 5 year old scion with less than 60 000 miles should be able to guarantee that I do not have to live with this particular brake noise any more.
