I took our 2009 Fit in for a 30K service, never expecting to be told "You need a new car," due to unibody rail rot! 146K on our Fit. Its engine has no issues. We expected to get 500K miles before having to r to be told "You need a new car," due to unibody rail rot! 146K on our Fit. Its engine has no issues. We expected to get 500K miles before having to replace our Fit. Excellent service from dealership. Did not expect this news. We'd buy the same car all over again if Honda yet sold it! Once home, we found a certified frame welder who said he can do a repair, worthy of inspection, giving us more time with this subcompact car whose flexible interior seating & size is perfect for us & our 2 aussies. He has our car now. The Fit's initial purchase cost & mpg fit our pocketbook to a T. Previous to buying it, we owned a truck of another brand, whose frame had premature frame rust. That dealership gave us $10K for a 10 year old truck, which we'd bought 'used' (1 yr. old). With that check, we switched brands, buying our 1st Honda, & now, Honda has let us down, by no longer producing the Fit. So with the remaining time we have with this Fit, we will research what our next brand of car may need to be only because Honda's other cars are larger in size, get fewer mpg. & cost way more. Up until now, we had planned on always buying a Honda.For maneuvering & mpg, we like the Fit! Honda, up your game, please! Don't make us switch brands. Produce Fits or design a new subcompact model with the same qualities that the Fit has. Thank you! Your service dept. at Matt Burne in Scranton is the BEST . . . until now . . . because you are not letting them sell us what we want. We trust them.
