Lately, it seems that every time I bring in one of our cars for scheduled service, McGrath comes back with a list of $600 of additional services needed. I then take that list to an independent center for a "2nd" opinion on what needs to be done and save money along the way. Recently McGrath said we had a leak in our spool valve & it needed to be replaced. The independent center found no such leak. Also, McGrath used to provide service coupons on their site so that I could save 15-20% on services. There is nothing available, but McGrath Elgin does post coupons. Why is that? Thanks More

On more than one occasion they have really gone out of their way to provide me safe but innovative and cost effective solutions to repair issues. More
Made appointment for 4 tires, was told it will take one hour. It took almost 3 hours, only because I kept asking about my car. People come in and there's nobody there to help, happened to me before, happened to someone when I was waiting. 4 days later, tire was almost flat. Took it to closest tire place, and as Far as I expected they didn't prepare the rim for a new tire. If you go here, be prepared for issues. Hourly labor rate is not posted, ILLEGAL, they will charge you for labor while car sits in lot. Good Service Reps are forced to rip off clients by management. Go to DeKalb, or find a good mechanic and use Honda parts. More
Most Dishonest Place on Earth! Recently bought a 2018 Odyssey here. The van said it had 95% oil life remaining, but the oil didn't look great on the dipstick. I decided to change Recently bought a 2018 Odyssey here. The van said it had 95% oil life remaining, but the oil didn't look great on the dipstick. I decided to change it, and it was the worst oil I have ever seen drain out of an engine (been changing oil for 20 years). Not only are their sales practices dishonest, but also the service. There is NOTHING good about this dealer. Find another! More
missing wheel lock key I am here to give a thumbs up to Sales person Chance Drake for helping me out with a problem about missing Wheel lock key. I bought my 2017 Honda I am here to give a thumbs up to Sales person Chance Drake for helping me out with a problem about missing Wheel lock key. I bought my 2017 Honda Civic sport hatchback back in July 2017. They have a mcgrath advantage for a free year of service. So they are the ones whos servicing my car, After a year, I'm on my own, I am attempting to rotate my tire thats when I found out I am missing the wheel lock key. I never touch my car for service and they are the only ones who serviced my car. So I immediately went to the dealer to asked for a key. Mr. Chance Drake is the one I approached. I told him my situation and immediately help me. Looked at my tire and try to find a wheel lock key spare. He even asked for other tech Matt, and they all went to check my tire with some other techs that I failed to asked for their names. I truly appreciate their help. After a couple of minutes at back and forth looking for the right key, finally Chance found a spare key and I was expecting to pay some for it. But he just give it for free. I was surprised he did that. I am not there for service and he didn't hesistate to help me. I know it sounds like "it's just a key no big deal" but if you're in my situation. After a year you just found out that your missing a wheel lock key and it's hard for you to convince them that you did not lost it and blame to them. He understand my situation and helped me immediately and that where I am mostly impressed at. He did exemplary job and because of that I will purchase my next car with him in the future. I don't usually write reviews especially long ones but this is some situation that you must give creditr to someone who did something special to customers. Chance Drake is that man for me. Highly recommend when you do business on this dealership. Thumbs up! More

They were able to provide the service that I originally came in for but when a situation arose where there was something wrong with the car because of something that Honda service did and not anything that I did or that the car did on it’s own but a Honda service that made a mistake, they refused to pay for it and said I would have to pay for their mistake at an outrageous price. They told me if I wanted it fixed I would have to pay for their mistake or call another dealership. So I called the dealership at valley Honda in Aurora and they took care of everything. They picked up my car from my own home so I didn’t have to waste more of my time, they fixed the honest mistake that was made by Honda and I didn’t have to pay a dime. They texted me and called me continuously with updates and dropped my car back to my house same day. Now that’s how to take care of a customer. Go to the valley Honda in Aurora because the McGrath dealership didn’t help me at all when the problem arose. this really shows what kind of business they are running compared to the other Honda dealership. I’m just being honest of how the situation played out. They could have handled the situation differently and they didn’t. More
Awful customer service. He even try to fight with me when I came next time to ask for help. Long story short, basically they do not care about your car once you buy from them. All they care about is sales but not customer service. Stay away from them. More

Great sales, but stay a way from service department I purchased a brand new car at Mc Grath Honda of St. Charles on 2012. The buying experience was great until we bought car. After they got our money an I purchased a brand new car at Mc Grath Honda of St. Charles on 2012. The buying experience was great until we bought car. After they got our money and closed the deal the troubles started with the service department. Usually I'm not a negative person and never spend time for negative comments or reviews. They installed a remote starter and alarm but t never worked properly and after trying a few months to fix the issue we gave up and they removed it. We got a new alarm from a different mechanic shop that worked perfectly. We started having a issue with starting the car after a year. We went to the service department a few times, but they weren't able to find the problem. After a few attempts they told us that there is an electric drain from the alarm. We took the car and went to a different mechanic shop to check the issue and they didn't find anything wrong with the electric system. In the mean time continued to not to start sometimes. We went back to the dealer for another check on the car they replaced the battery and tore out the remote starter and the alarm without even calling us and making sure that is fine. Thank god everything was free, covered under the car warranty. But they didn't fix the problem and today -12/03/2016 after more than four years and spending hours and days of going back and forward, the technician Michael Palmer was so rude and uncooperative he even told that I was wasting his time and he isn't going to make any free diagnostics, the problem is again in the battery. But it is not worth their time anymore because my car is four years old and there is no more warranty. My suggestions to every body if you have money and time to spend go to Mc Grath Honda of St. Charles or otherwise stay away. More
