The service advisors are great to work with. The service department as a whole though is subpar. There should be loner vehicles available and offered if the service is expected to take a good couple of hour department as a whole though is subpar. This was an awful experience. I took my Chevy Cruze in to have the thermostat replaced because of the code the car showed. They wanted $100 to diagnose what the code meant. I asked if the diagnostic price to have the thermostat replaced because of the code the car showed. They wanted $100 to diagnose what the code meant. I asked if the diagnostic price would be used towards the repair and was told not all of it and it depends. I told them to go ahead anyway and they replaced the thermostat for $529.14. This included replacing coolant. The repair was completed on 07-05-2021. On 07-09-2021 my son drove to drop off bottles and the went to the gym. This was the first time the car was driven since the repair and white smoke came from under the hood. He opened the hood and a liquid was spraying from near the repair. We let it cool down and then added coolant and took it to another mechanic. When he looked at it there was oil in the coolant, oil in the reservoir, the hoses were soft instead of hard. He told us we had at least a blown head gasket and perhaps worse. Moreover, we were told that there was no way they had not seen the oil as it was in all of the area they had worked on and it would have taken a while to soften the hoses. If they had actually done a diagnostic they could have told me I had a bigger problem and I could decide what to do. They could have even fixed the thermostat and said oh by the way there is oil in the radiator. Instead, they took the $529.14 to replace a thermostat and did not even mention anything in the notes. The only other option would seem to be that maybe the thermostat was defective and caused the head gasket issue. Either way this was an awful experience. More
