I purchhased a preowned 2019 Porsche Targa 4S for Mercedes Benz of Boston, part of the Herb Chambers group. While my initial experience was exceptional, the follow up and follow thru is appalling. I purchased my car, sight unseen, as travel from Florida to Boston would be very challenging due to Coronavirus. I did review the vehicle via Facetime and requested that Rob, who has owned many Porsches, go over the car with a fine "toothcomb," which he indicated that he would and subsequently told me the car was perfect. Well, it was not so perfect. The car was transported via enclosed carrier. As soon as I looked over the car, I noticed rock chips on the front hood and on the side rear quarter panel. I contacted Rob, who authorized up to $200 to fix the chipped paint. On Wednesday, 5/13 I was trying to remove the glove compartment key from the key fob only to find out that that part of the key was broken (Confirmed by Suncoast Porsche.) It is not a warranted part and costs $125 to replace which Mercedes Benz of Boston refuses to pay or replace, as they own a Porsche Dealership in Massachusetts. In addition, while having the car 3M'd for paint protection from rocks, etc., the owner of 2Zero, authorized 3M dealer, noticed that the front bumper had "cosmetic" damage and while it had been repaired, the paint that was used had a "Blue" hue to it. My vehicle is Jet Black Metallic. It is a bit difficult to see, but it is apparent. I had the repair completed at a cost of $400 which again Mercedes Benz of Boston is unwilling to reimburse me for the out of pocket expense. Obviously, I am a Florida resident and they may not have had another opportunity to sell a car to me, and perhaps that is the reason for their reluctance to pay for the damages/repairs/replacement. I can assure them that I will be buying additional vehicles, but none from them!!! In fact, I have owned Mercedes Benz in the past and will not buy another Mercedes Benz vehicle, as they are franchisees of Mercedes Benz! More
