We used Chip McCarty for the purchase of our new ML350 based on a referral from a former MB service representative. Chip was very friendly and knowledgable. We informed Chip that this was our first time p based on a referral from a former MB service representative. Chip was very friendly and knowledgable. We informed Chip that this was our first time purchasing a brand new vehicle. We have owned many MB vehicles in the past but purchased them outright as used vehicles. After dealing with out of pocket expenses for used vehicle repairs we wanted the piece of mind that purchasing a new vehicle supplied. That said, we felt that leasing would be the best option since we tend to replace our vehicles every few years. We also wanted something safe since we have a baby on the way. Our initial visit was great. We told Chip that we wanted a new ML350 and had an ML to trade in. Chip had a technician appraise the vehicle while we went for a test drive. During the test drive Chip went over many of the vehicle's features. After owning the vehicle for a month now, I do feel that he could've informed me of many other features that I was able to figure out on my own rather than just sell me on the package add ons. I also feel that he could have asked me more questions about what extras we wanted. He only showed us one print out of an ML in inventory. I feel that it should be standard to present at least 3 vehicles with different options and pricing to see which fits a buyer's needs better. After we returned from the test drive Chip had me fill out the application for the financing approval. When he returned with my approval we discussed the price and he said that he would try to get it lowered since I am a veteran. He also gave me an amount for the trade in, which for a 10 year old car seemed somewhat reasonable. So far so good. We were very easy customers, no haggling or negotiating or asking for more than 10K a year on mileage and we even purchased some of the extras such as pre-paid maintenance etc. We also decided to have the illuminated star installed for an extra $1000 which would push back our pick up day. The day finally arrived for us to pick up our new ML. My pregnant wife and I were smiling from ear to ear because this was our first new car purchase. Then the unthinkable happens. The Poly-V belt on our trade in became detached and we had to have it towed to the dealership. While waiting for the tow truck I called Chip to inform him of the situation. He didn't sound too thrilled but I didn't blame him. Here we are, about to finalize the transaction and this happens. When my wife and I arrive to the dealership, Chip has the technicians take a look at the problem with the trade in. Being that it was just the belt, I was hoping that the dealership would take on the cost of it's replacement and call it a done deal. Instead, they wanted us to pay for it. They estimated the cost around $1200 and this was not something that we were prepared for. If we hadn't waited for the illuminated star installation, this whole situation might have been avoided. I tried working with Chip to have the dealership take care of the repair but we weren't getting anywhere with him so he called over the sales manager, Umer Iqbal. In the beginning Umer was very condescending towards us. When my wife said that we would walk away from the deal, Umer told her, "You'll literally be walking home because your car doesn't run". As a professional in customer service, comments like these need to be filtered and left unsaid. He later changed his tone when he actually took into consideration that this was a very unfortunate issue. Since we hadn't negotiated anything on this purchase I told him that I'd only be willing to pay $500 toward the $1200. We went back and forth for about 20 minutes. You would think that with the revenue that Herb Chambers pulls in every year that they could eat the entire cost of this really unfortunate event in order to keep a client's fist time purchasing experience an enjoyable one. That wasn't the case though and eventually they agreed to our $500 payment. This was our first time purchasing a brand new vehicle and the whole experience was tarnished because of this. To make matters even worse, Umer contacted me a few days later to let us know that the repair would only be between $600 & $700 which they totally could have absorbed since that was their portion of the $1200. Instead he offered a partial refund of our $500. We felt that in order to make it a 5 star customer experience that they should've just paid for the repair on the trade-in. We own two businesses in Boston and our whole business model is based on customer satisfaction and client referrals. All of our ratings are 5 Star and we strive to be the best. We understand that customer service can make or break a business and we do everything in our power to make sure that our clients are satisfied 100%. Needless to say the memory of our first new car buying experience with HC of Somerville will forever be tarnished. We could have referred all of our clients and network because of how great the experience was, but unfortunately that won't be the case. We are extremely loyal customers and very happy with our new ML350 but when our lease is up we will bring the car to a different dealership and work with a different salesman. More

This was my first time purchasing a new car and I had to come from out of State to purchase the specific car I wanted. Everyone I spoke to beforehand was helpful in getting me the current information before I made the trip to the dealership. Once at the dealership, I was instantly greeted by the friendly sales staff and introduced to Georgina. She was informative in providing me the necessary information I was looking for. When we ran into some problems with transporting the vehicle back to my home state, Georgina was quick on her feet with a solution. I was provided a loaner since I traded by old car in and Georgina personally delivered my car to me a few days later. It was an overall great experience and no way an overwhelming process. I would highly recommend Georgina to anyone looking to purchase a vehicle at Mercedes Benz of Boston! More

WHEN WE GOT THERE SHE HAD THE CARS READY FOR US TO COMPARE AND SHE SHOWED US ALL THE FEATURE MY DAD. MY DAD WAS TORN BETWEEN A MERCEDES AND A BMW. SHE NEVER PRESSURED US AND ANSWERED ALL OUR QUESTIONS TRUTHFULLY AND WENT THE EXTRA MILE TO COME IN EARLY AND STAY LATER SO THAT WE GOT ALL THE INFORMATION WE NEEDED TO MAKE A DECISION. SHE ALSO HELPED US FIND SUITABLE FINANCING. WE ARE VERY GRATEFUL FOR HER HELP AND MAKING OUR BUYING EXPERIENCE A GREAT ONE AND WE WILL DEFINITELY BUY FROM YOU GUYS AGAIN IN THE FUTURE. More

This is the 3rd Mercedes I bought from this dealer. The car make is nice, sturdy, reliable and the services calls are great and convenient for me. My first two cars were ML 350. Love them, comfortable and feel the rush when driving it. Since my family is growing, so I got a new spacier car with 3rd row option, GL450 (easy entry and keyless go). Since I am so use to this dealer, I just logged-on the the web and got contact with the sale guide. Once I showed up at the dealer, Thanh Nguyen was there to greet me with a warm smile. I basically know what I want, so Thanh was just easily search for the car and options that I need. The dealer did not have the car, options, and colors available, so Thanh did what he does best and got me a car with all the options and color I wanted. He even went out of his way to deal for the price that I want to pay with Lojack and very nice winter floor mats included. Since I am a healthcare professional, Thanh even got me a handsome discount for that which the previous sale person did not bother to work with me or search to find out whether or not such a discount exist. Thanh even went out of his way to come to my office and have all paper works ready for me to sign which saved me quite a lot of time running back and forth and many hours to do papers and meeting the financing agents (I bought many cars over the years, so I know the time frame). All that only cost me about 10 mins to sign them and no hassle. Thanh Handled everything and even though superbowl Sunday was his day off and mindset for the superbowl game, he still took his time to come in so I can pick up my car. Thanh explained step by step on all functions and options carefully to me, even though I knew 90% how to operate the car, which again, the previous saler person did not bother to do......"just there your car, your keys and good luck and have fun." I am very happy with my new car and have Thanh to thank for. I'll definitely refer my associates, friend and family to see Thanh if they ever need a car. I sure am will come back to see Thanh if I ever need a new car in the future. More
