An unexpected traffic accident required us to replace our Mercedes SUV a year earlier than planned. I didn't want a payment right now, so we were shopping for a used car we could buy with cash. It was a difficult search, as the Covid-induced price escalation was in full swing. Everything was priced well above blue-book. We tried out lots of cars, but weren't finding the right car at the right price. Then we stumbled upon Frank Cardwell. Frank was a pleasure to work with. He showed us a local trade that had just been taken in. It had not yet been through their inspection or detail shop. He apologized for that, but in fact I preferred it- I got to see how the vehicle was taken care of by the previous owners. The test drive went well, and the price was reasonable; right at Blue Book. We made a deal, and set an appointment to pick up the car the following week (after their inspection and detailing.). Delivery was delayed a few days, as the shop found some things to correct- a faulty module and a brake job on all four wheels. I didn't mind waiting for those... The car was beautiful when we picked it up; all service up-to-date and nicely detailed. I noticed a missing headrest in the back, Frank checked and found out it came in that way. Without me even asking, he immediately ordered a replacement and had it sent to me directly. This dealership doesn't want anything leaving that isn't right, and Frank doesn't want anyone leaving unhappy. Let's be honest- nobody likes the car-dealer experience. It takes too long and can be frustrating. It's been decades since I've had a car dealer I would want to see again, but that is no longer true. When it's time to replace this car, Frank will be my first call. Well done. More
