Purchased a brand new Mercedes. Under 5K miles and my tire split on the sidewall at the seam. I noticed when my tires came up light on air. The rim wasn't damaged and I could see no visible damage to the tire. When I took it in to replace the tire I asked if it could be covered as a manufacturer defect. I was told "No" you must have hit a pothole. After paying and complaining to the front desk I was contacted by the service manager. I come to find out it could have been turned in as a potential manufacturer defect. I was credited for a future visit but only for 7/10 of my tire wear. Which is astounding given I had only driven 5K miles. Overall, really poor experience and especially for a brand new 140K plus car. I almost forgot. I brought it in 8AM on a Saturday so I could have it back for the weekend. When I contacted them at 11AM asking if I could pick it up I was told it was too close to 12 and I would have to wait until Monday. Four hours to change a tire? Only going above a one star to a two due to the credit back. More
