Big cheats on Prices and Misinformation and Transparency. I purchased a used 2016 Toyota Camry on 12/17/2020 and without informing they added $3350/- to my financed amount for GAP Ins and Serv Transparency. I purchased a used 2016 Toyota Camry on 12/17/2020 and without informing they added $3350/- to my financed amount for GAP Ins and Service Contract. I was only informed about the GAP Insurance ($650/-) and was reluctant but then forced to take it but never informed nor discussed the Service contract fees for $2700/-) added to my finance on the car. I was kept waiting from 7pm to 11.15pm to close the deal and was told, being very late, my purchase contract would be sent next day. On several phone calls with no response, i finally got the buyer's contract on 01/07/2020 and to my great shock i noticed the Service contract charges for $2750/- added to the sale price of $14000/- which is ridiculous and very very unethical. BIG CHEATS. I will never ever buy any cars nor advise anyone to go to Mike Calverts More

Very poor service. I went there 3 times to purchase a car, but they kept playing the game... “we don’t have this color!! We have that color” then they did not honor the online deal I had. They kept going car, but they kept playing the game... “we don’t have this color!! We have that color” then they did not honor the online deal I had. They kept going back and forth playing with the numbers. They were trying to sell me a used car with the price of more than the new car 2121. Be very careful with them. Don’t trust them and do your search. Visit other dealers and that will save you $3k-$4k easy More
One of the best experiences I have had purchasing a car. From TJ who understood my needs to Paul Booth who guided me through the purchase. Steven Vu made the paperwork a breeze. Thank you to all car. Do not take your Toyota to Mike Calvert for service. On two separate occasions, they have shown themselves to be incompetent diagnosticians and more likely dishonest salesmen bordering on bold liars. My two separate occasions, they have shown themselves to be incompetent diagnosticians and more likely dishonest salesmen bordering on bold liars. My first encounter with them was shortly after I moved to Houston. Prior to driving down, I had completed a car checkup and replaced the battery. Unfortunately my car wouldn’t start one morning, and I had it towed to Mike Calvert Toyota. They insisted that my car battery was the issue, going so far as to offer me an expensive new battery, an extra charge for insurance, and an extra charge for “battery service”. I told them I had just changed the battery less than a month ago and to please look for other causes. They refused to listen to me, even after I took the battery to Advanced auto parts and had it test perfectly. After much hemming and hawing they eventually found that the starter needed replacing, and with a replacement (and my old battery!) my car was fine. My second encounter was just a few days ago and more egregious. My car broke down and I didn’t know where to go, so I gave them another chance. Duke Woodard, the service advisor, calls me the next day and tells me the transmission had gone bad - $5500. Repairs would cost more than the car’s worth, and I planned to tow it to the scrapyard. I asked Duke if he was sure there was no other cause that could be fixed, and he said this – “I um, actually took a look at your car with the technician and I confirmed that um, the part definitely had internal issues and needed to be repaired”. At this point I knew that he was lying to me, so I had it towed to an independent shop to get a second opinion. The mechanic pointed out an obviously broken CV axle, easily visible from underneath the car. The internals of the transmission were fine. Cost $500 to have both axles replaced and my car works like a peach. This is a long review, but I want to make sure no one goes through the same heartache and distress that Mike Calvert Toyota put me through. They have misdiagnosed my car two times and have outright lied to me to sell me unnecessary repairs at extreme costs. Two strikes against Mike Calvert Toyota, and I won’t be back for a third. *MCT, would love if you would contact me so that I may hear your side of the story. More
Patrick, my contact at Mike Calvert, made my buying experience so easy and comfortable by sending videos to me of cars he felt would be of interest to me. By the time we met, my video choice was waiting for me right outside the door of the dealership. The paperwork was a breeze and handled very professionally, and off I went. I have purchased at least six cars at Mike Calvert and would do it again. I would ask for Patrick again too, if I have to buy another vehicle. More
Extortion and Liars Mike Calvert Toyota's service department are either liars either crooks. To make a long story short, they said they inspected the rear hatch of the v Mike Calvert Toyota's service department are either liars either crooks. To make a long story short, they said they inspected the rear hatch of the vehicle that was the reason we brought it in. Come to find out they did not inspect it. They wanted to charge me almost $1,500 they said the part was $335 and it would take 4 hours of labor. We decided against it. Online I found Toyota OEM parts for $200, and a video that took about 15 minutes to make the change. I was going to just go pick up the vehicle, but they charge almost $100 just for looking at it (which they did not do) We figured we would change the brakes since I had to spend at least $100. Any here is the kicker, when we leave the rear hatch door was not looked at and I got it to close in about 10 minutes with minor tools. After watching a 5 minute youtube video. There is NO WAY they looked at it because when we brought it in the rear hatch was stuck in an inbetween area of not fully open and not fully closed. The service guy was nice enough, but I am not sure if he or the service technician is the liar. More

A few issues I have with Mike Calvert are their high pressure sales tactics, pushy sales managers (who call you ‘boss’ and ‘bro’, neither of which am I) and their willingness to push customers off onto pressure sales tactics, pushy sales managers (who call you ‘boss’ and ‘bro’, neither of which am I) and their willingness to push customers off onto other sales representatives instead of having consistent follow thru when making a sale. Beyond that, I was displeased with miscommunication from the service department on the phone about service time which ended up being doubled when I arrived. While Toyota sells an objectively good product, their selection criteria of dealerships needs to be revisited. More
