Mini of Murray responded

Dear Linda, I apologize you have had an unsatisfactory visit with our service department. I understand the frustration with repairs your car needed after being repaired at an outside shop. Upon us receiving your vehicle, it had a no start condition along with a dead battery. I understand after the outside shop replaced your clutch resulting in the car no longer starting. During our diagnostics, the DME had an incorrect VIN aligned to it and the battery started smoking during diagnostics caused from it being a faulty battery. After installing the approved battery, the vehicle would not program due to the mismatched VIN. MINI tried to reprogram the vehicle remotely which was unsuccessful, again due to the DME showing an incorrect VIN, following the outside shop repair of the clutch. We gave you an option of replacing the EWS first, a less expensive first step in repair. We replaced the EWS and programmed the vehicle without success of the vehicle starting. This is when we identified the DME with the incorrect VIN and offered this repair option also. I understand this is frustrating yet there was no need for Mr. Gerard to be verbally abusive and disrespectful, using obscene foul language for the car being disabled as a result of another repair shop to the service advisor Levi. You removed the approved battery put in for testing and returned it to our parts department before towing the vehicle away. We have to follow a specific procedure in all diagnostic and repairs as an approved manufacturer service center in order to fully diagnose and warranty our work on our customer’s cars, for the very reason of avoiding this kind of situation that often happens when people seek outside repairs. Linda responded

No I really don't think you understand our frustration being treated so rudely. We were treated rudely way before my husband ever got upset I never heard him be verbally abusive unless it was when he said this sucks. Part of the frustration was blaming all the problems on the repair that was already done all they did was replace the clutch and it was serviced by a mechanic with Years of experience. I understand rules regulations and procedures but the service part department could have treated us as human beings and not kept blaming us because we had our car repaired could've acted a little more helpful. Just as this email response showed you're still blaming us that just shows how we were treated. No problem I expected this response we will make sure we never buy another one and tell everyone we know how terrible the service department was

Mini of Murray responded

Linda, I apologize for the frustration this has caused you. We never want to treat any of our clients with disrespect. I understand that your car is currently un drivable. We spent extensive time working with MINI USA involving your MINI Cooper's no start concern. The issue's that your car is experiencing would be a trial and error with the modules to see if it will correct your no start. We attempted programming your modules multiple times with no success. I understand that the engine control module was the more expensive module however it was the next step in the process. Thank you Justin
