I drove out to Mohawk Chevrolet from the greater Albany area looking for a 2023 Chevy Bolt, which was not available, but I just kept talking with Joshua Murgo about possible alternative vehicles for the pe area looking for a 2023 Chevy Bolt, which was not available, but I just kept talking with Joshua Murgo about possible alternative vehicles for the period between now and 2025 or so, when new Bolts might be generally available again. It turned out that there were two perfectly good alternative cars to choose from that same day, right on the lot, and I ended up liking a 2022 Nissan Sentry in the color that I really wanted, something you'd call electric blue or cerulean blue. The color was just good luck, but the staff are to be credited for reviewing the whole situation involving wait lists for the coming Chevy Bolts and presenting alternatives, and then explaining each of them in turn, with test drives, too. My son and I test drove a new Prius and the 2022 Sentra, and I just loved the Sentra's interior, sound system, electronics, the seats, the responsiveness, the smooth and quiet ride, and the beautiful color and finish of the body. The Sentra was actually the cheaper of the two cars, the one that fit our budget best, but no one tried to aggressively upsell me to the Prius instead. The attitude was clearly "the right car for the right person." I worked with James on the financing, and there, too, I ended up declining add-on protection programs in favor of the 11,000 miles remaining on the manufacturer's warranty, and I saw willingness to be somewhat flexible on the price of additional warranties, but, again, no aggressive upselling on James's part. That's great, and not what you always find from dealerships. The grounds of the dealership include a great walking trail, so that when I returned a few days later with my wife to collect the car, we got to include a walk in our visit. The waiting areas are very hospitable and tidy, and the waits themselves were never terribly long, just long enough at one point to enjoy that walk around the grounds. Overall, an unusually good experience of buying a new car at the dealership of a big automaker. I am still actively loving the new car, the newest I've ever owned. I'm kind of sorry to arrive places now, because the ride is over, and it's time to turn the radio off... My commutes are now intervals in my day that I positively look forward to and enjoy. This transaction has made a very positive change in my daily life. More
