I have no association with the previous service rep so this is not about him he just took care of business and I never felt slighted. What follows is bits and pieces of what I sent to ford customer care so that in the event I have future transmission issues they know why and also to understand why many are disappointed with Ford Dealers People are adding after market coolers to insure the transmission does not overheat and or add a transmission pan that added additional two quarts of fluid. Any way the truck needed a state inspection. I spoke with the service manager here and said they would be happy to install it. He gave me a price to which I agreed. Now I have brought my truck here for inspection and service since 2019. Same exact configuration. Today they failed it for len covers on the ditch lights! Talk about desperation. Any way the mechanic filled flushed the transmission with LV transmission fluid! They were supposed to use ULV Ford Transmission Fluid!!!!! I’m furious. Talk about incompetence! So i am very concerned that my transmission is going to be ruined. I doubt very much they are doing sacrifice transmission fluid changes to ensure the converter and everything is clear of LV fluid. I don’t trust them for a second and eill probably bring it to Newins and ask them to replace the fluid again for another $400 dollars. They literally discovered this after pulling the truck into the lot for me to go home in! I went in to square the bill and then she tells me we have to change the fluid because they installed LV vice ULV!!!!! You can’t make this up last time they replaced the side view mirror which only adjusts in and out but not up and down!!!! I don’t know if they corrected it but I did tell them I was unhappy with their horrible and disrespectful service. What do I do you can’t get an honest answer from you they shrug you off. So I am here sitting at the dealership waiting for them to swap the Lv for ULV. To be clear they didn’t install a cooler they installed a B&M transmission pan that has a plug for monitoring transmission fluid temperature! I did not have them install the temperature gauge who knows how that would have turned out. Pretty sad. I will let the service manager know unfortunately he is on vacation as my luck would have it!!! I know when aircraft oils get contaminated by the wrong oil else has been contaminated. I do problems with To add insult to to injury. I pulled the truck off the lot with a check engine light on! Once again I went to my Ford Pass app and discovered it it the engine Lower Auto Cowl! I immediately text her and asked why is my check engine light on? It just passed inspection with the exception of the covers they are demanding now! For five years it was not a problem. They were supposed to replace the bumper valance. I was actually going to replace it myself I ordered the part from them. But then the service manager said they would install it for 1/2 hour labor! So I said great do it it’s still freezing out and I figured for 100 dollars it was worth it. Well don’t you know at 3 oclock she text me and tells me they made a mistake on the estimate it’s now going to be 3.5 hours of labor!!! 😝 the service manager is on vacation. I think they charge near $200 an hour! So joe cough up another $700 and we’ll install it for you! I said no thanks I will install it myself! So the mechanic did start working on it. I don’t know if he touched something that affected the auto cowl’s possibly disconnected something he did start removing the valance but you can’t replace it without removing the front bumper. This is a ford mechanic? Four bolts in the front and two on both the left side; unplug the fog lights and the bumper is off! I kid you not! She also tried to blame me for using the wrong transmission fluid!!! 😝 she said you were supposed to supply the transmission fluid; I laughed at her I said where did you get the transmission fluid from she then backed off probably realized how stupid she sounded! They supposedly drained it twice after I asked them about sacrificial trans fluid changes. They did not pump it out the drained the pan it has a drain plug unlike the factory pan. So I asked about all the fluid in the torque converter. Her only answer is we drained it twice. I know some dealers do a flush they just drained it. They charged me almost $800 and my truck is still not inspected. I have a check engine light and a transmission contaminated with LV transmission fluid. When I got short with her some loser that works there said I had no right to talk to her like that! 😝 didn’t matter how i ever spoke to her she has a personality disorder. Her name should be Karen!

When I brought the truck in for the engine block heater recall before then I never had a check engine light due to the auto cowl. Well after that every so often I would get the engine light. I discovered while replacing the valance that they didn’t route the cable properly and it was forcing the duct over. This would cause the cowl to jam against the side i took photos of it. I routed the wires correctly. So far no more lower auto cowl problems.
