I brought my 2020 Escape to Montrose Ford for The Works service. Montrose’s own website lists a cabin air filter check as part of that service, but when I asked, the advisor told me it wasn’t included. Wor service. Worse, the multipoint inspection sheet marked the cabin air filter as inspected. When I replaced that filter myself afterward, it was packed with leaves, so it was clearly never opened. An item was signed off as inspected when it plainly was not. Later my check engine light came on. I read the code myself and gave the advisor the exact code, P0496, up front. They still charged me $200 for a diagnostic. Their quote to fix it was $779 for parts and labor. I called an independent shop and was quoted $150 for the same repair, which is less than Montrose charged me just to confirm the code I already handed them. Paying for a service and not getting what was promised, seeing work marked complete that was not done, and then being charged $200 for a diagnosis I supplied only to be quoted roughly five times an independent’s price, is not service that earns repeat business. Get an independent quote before you authorize anything here. More
