New Motors started as a gas station in 1927 in Hartstown, PA as a gas and service station with Vincent New as proprietor. He later grew to selling Chevrolets and pre-owned farm equipment.
As times changed in the automotive industry, the Chevrolet sales were eliminated and replaced with a used car outlet and Volvo's acquisition in 1963 followed by Saab and Fiat. His 2 sons, Larry and Gary, began working in their father's garage in the early 60's.
The New brothers quickly learned that hard work and good service would earn a customer for life. It was this work ethic that influenced Larry and Gary to develop the company's mission statement:
"To ensure that you remain our customer for life we are committed to exceed your expectations---Period!"
Every employee from the original 3, to the current 95, practices the mission statement, striving for customer satisfaction.
The decision was made to move the dealership to Erie, PA as an exclusive Volvo dealer in 1971. The 8,000 square foot building was built on 3 acres of land. Vincent New passed away just 3 short months after the completion of the New dealership. He did not get to see the expansion to 80 acres with facilities combining 42,500 square feet of work space with 2 showrooms housing the current used department and 3 franchises (Subaru, Volkswagen, and BMW).
New Motors is now the top parts wholesaler in PA, Ohio, New York, Virginia, and West Virginia. The company has earned the dealer of excellence and Stellar Performers Certification from Subaru for their drive in outstanding customer Satisfaction.

Buying a Forester Seth Murphy was very helpful. I wasn't sure if I wanted a Forester since it was larger than my old one. So I tried out the crosstech also and he gav Seth Murphy was very helpful. As soon as I arrived and walked in the door at New Motors Subaru I was greeted very personably...it wasn't a 'in your face' greeting...it was a pleasant, friendly experience. Tony was a delight to deal with from start to finish. No pressure sales. Answered all my questions professionally. Outstanding dealership Have been buying Subarus from New Motors since 2000, including several Foresters and two Crosstreks (the latest of which was delivered yesterday). Since I live in southeastern Erie County, I am close to a couple Subaru dealerships. I always come back to New Motors. They are the tops in both sales and service.
