New Motors started as a gas station in 1927 in Hartstown, PA as a gas and service station with Vincent New as proprietor. He later grew to selling Chevrolets and pre-owned farm equipment.
As times changed in the automotive industry, the Chevrolet sales were eliminated and replaced with a used car outlet and Volvo's acquisition in 1963 followed by Saab and Fiat. His 2 sons, Larry and Gary, began working in their father's garage in the early 60's.
The New brothers quickly learned that hard work and good service would earn a customer for life. It was this work ethic that influenced Larry and Gary to develop the company's mission statement:
"To ensure that you remain our customer for life we are committed to exceed your expectations---Period!"
Every employee from the original 3, to the current 95, practices the mission statement, striving for customer satisfaction.
The decision was made to move the dealership to Erie, PA as an exclusive Volvo dealer in 1971. The 8,000 square foot building was built on 3 acres of land. Vincent New passed away just 3 short months after the completion of the New dealership. He did not get to see the expansion to 80 acres with facilities combining 42,500 square feet of work space with 2 showrooms housing the current used department and 3 franchises (Subaru, Volkswagen, and BMW).
New Motors is now the top parts wholesaler in PA, Ohio, New York, Virginia, and West Virginia. The company has earned the dealer of excellence and Stellar Performers Certification from Subaru for their drive in outstanding customer Satisfaction.

My wife an I came to New Motors with the goal of purchasing a new VW Passat. Purchasing 2014 Subaru Forester was pleasurable. I appreciate Larry New's attention to me the customer on more than one occasion. Sales is very good; service professionalism & Service personnel are gr appreciate Larry New's attention to me the customer on more than one occasion. Sales is very good; service professionalism & Service personnel are great. There were follow thru issues negotiated with the sale of the car. One has been completed (to my satisfaction) and two others are pending as of this writing. Email reminders are sent out when service is scheduled; very helpful. I am treated well at the dealership and my car is washed after service. Loaner cars are offered if service visit is deemed lengthy. If I decided to wait on site there are customer refreshments offered in a comfortable environment.
