New Motors started as a gas station in 1927 in Hartstown, PA as a gas and service station with Vincent New as proprietor. He later grew to selling Chevrolets and pre-owned farm equipment.
As times changed in the automotive industry, the Chevrolet sales were eliminated and replaced with a used car outlet and Volvo's acquisition in 1963 followed by Saab and Fiat. His 2 sons, Larry and Gary, began working in their father's garage in the early 60's.
The New brothers quickly learned that hard work and good service would earn a customer for life. It was this work ethic that influenced Larry and Gary to develop the company's mission statement:
"To ensure that you remain our customer for life we are committed to exceed your expectations---Period!"
Every employee from the original 3, to the current 95, practices the mission statement, striving for customer satisfaction.
The decision was made to move the dealership to Erie, PA as an exclusive Volvo dealer in 1971. The 8,000 square foot building was built on 3 acres of land. Vincent New passed away just 3 short months after the completion of the New dealership. He did not get to see the expansion to 80 acres with facilities combining 42,500 square feet of work space with 2 showrooms housing the current used department and 3 franchises (Subaru, Volkswagen, and BMW).
New Motors is now the top parts wholesaler in PA, Ohio, New York, Virginia, and West Virginia. The company has earned the dealer of excellence and Stellar Performers Certification from Subaru for their drive in outstanding customer Satisfaction.

I was referred to Shane Harney by a friend who has dealt with Shane for years. He was exceptional. I love that he was very low pressure to purchase a car. I had already decided what I wanted and he didn’t t with Shane for years. He was exceptional. I love that he was very low pressure to purchase a car. I had already decided what I wanted and he didn’t try to make me change my choice to a more expensive vehicle. It was near the end of the month so he could have pressured me to buy a car on the lot. They didn’t have the vehicle I wanted on the lot but they were receiving a shipment in a few days. When it came in he immediately texted me it was there and I texted all pertinent information to him. This saved me at least an hour of getting the paperwork ready. Nate Bird did all our financial paperwork. Very efficient and timely. Shane explained all the features of the car very thoroughly. The whole experience very enjoyable and I will definitely be returning when I need another car. More
