I came here as a referral and had a great experience. I worked with Kristin from the BDC department, she was wonderful. I got a 2010 Maxima - the best deal ever - better than any other dealer offered me. I worked with Kristin from the BDC department, she was wonderful. Absolute train wreck. My car didn't even have a gas cap. I've bought a dozen cars in my life. I have never been treated so poorly. Made me, my wife and 2 toddlers wait for an hour and a half while they search for the keys to a car advertised on autotrader. First they couldn't find the keys, then when we suggested we should see the c half while they search for the keys to a car advertised on autotrader. First they couldn't find the keys, then when we suggested we should see the car from the outside, they claimed they couldn't find the car. After being polite while waiting all this time I let them know that i was going to take my kids for lunch and they should call me when they find the car. My wife had become annoyed at being told "just gimme a second" for the 100th time and put her foot down, asking the manager if the car actually existed or are we wasting our time. So right before I left, I asked if I should be expecting a call or not and the MANAGER told me that I should have "control over my woman". TERRRIBLE PLACE....DON'T GO THERE. More
I had no issues leasing my car here... They were helpful, quick and delivered on time. Then, I went for my 1st oil change (that was at no cost) and I waited for it. 3 and a 1/2 hours later, I got it back.. quick and delivered on time. Then, I went for my 1st oil change (that was at no cost) and I waited for it. 3 and a 1/2 hours later, I got it back... I went in for a recall on my car, intending to leave it there. After finding out there were in fact THREE recalls, I was told they would call me when it was ready. When I called to follow up, I was on the phone with idiots who had no sense of customer service before I spoke to Charlie who was trying to help me... The employees also laughed at me when I told them I would never wait for my car to be serviced- they chuckle at a 3 and a 1/2 hr oil change.... No more service at this place- free or not!!!!! More
This dealership is the absolute worst! Please please please do not go near this dealership! I have been the victim of the biggest scam possible. They go to any and all extents-- lying to make a sale. please do not go near this dealership! I have been the victim of the biggest scam possible. They go to any and all extents-- lying to make a sale. Their practices are so unethical- they are truly the most ruthless people I've ever encountered in my life!!! I can't stress that any more, how disgusting their behavior is. They give a quote then to be faced with an extrodinary amount on the contracts, doubling what was originally discussed with severely different terms than agreed. They will deceive you, con you, and scam you! Please pass the word to anyone you know looking to buy a car. Reputations are upheld for a reason, and unfortunately I've learned first hand that there is truth to it! Car salesman are the biggest jerks and the conduct the dirtiest business. If one person stays away from this dealership- that is one less person burned by their supremely disgusting sales practices!! More
I was at Nissan of Garden City for 6 hours on Saturday, 09/05/2009. I negotiated the price with the sales person Richard Cox. We agreed upon $26,100 for Nissan Maxima 3.5 S (base model) with the rear spoil 09/05/2009. I negotiated the price with the sales person Richard Cox. We agreed upon $26,100 for Nissan Maxima 3.5 S (base model) with the rear spoiler. The rear spoiler was an add on (which would otherwise cost about $400). They gave me a "We Owe" receipt so I can schedule an appointment at a later date and have the rear spoiler installed. I was happy with the deal but when I went into the Finance manager’s office, the finance manager (I can't seem to recall his name) slapped additional $1050 in some BS fees which I was totally unaware of. Breakdown was something like this, $200 for doc fee which sounds legit, cost of the car went up by $250 because according to the dealer, he was not obligated to honor the labor day sale. After arguing for like 30 mins he decided to give me $250 instead of $500 labor day cash. Another $600 in finance fees because I chose 0 APR. This fee turned out to be a BS fee. No other dealer charged this fee. When I looked at the paperwork, this $600 was added to the cost of the car. Total cost of the car was $27,150 (about $1050 more than the agreed upon price) @ 0 APR which I still thought was a good deal. But thats not the point. Point is, the sales person, Richard took us to the Finance Manager's office making me believe that I will be paying $26,100(Plus taxes and registration) but by the time I walked out of the office they charged me $1050 more than the "agreed upon" price. I did not have much time to go to another dealership and start this all over again. So, suppressing my frustration and anger, I agreed on the deal. I think the way this dealership went about the whole deal was totally unethical. My awful experience with the dealership did not just end there. One week after my purchase, I got a call from the dealership advising me that they now have the rear spoiler in stock and that I should schedule an appointment to have it installed. Since they do not provide a loaner car, I had to take a day off from work just to get this installed. Anyways, I dropped it off around 11:00 AM. Name of the service advisor was Peter. I received a call from him in the evening around 4 PM (after about 5 hours) telling me that they ordered the wrong part and that I would have to reschedule the appointment! I could not believe this. Anyways, moving on. I took up this issue with the customer relations manager, Bob Stone and they did provide me with a loaner car the second time around. I don't even wanna mention the run around they gave me to get the loaner car. In any case, I dropped off the car the night before and when I went to pick it up the next day, the rear spoiler was installed but to my horror, I was missing the rear center brake light from the rear window. When I called back the service department and asked to speak with Peter, they literally put me on hold for 25 minutes just to tell me that he will call me back. He did call me back after like 5 hours and he told me that it is illegal to drive with two rear center lights. Hence, they decided to throw my light (which I paid for BTW) in garbage!!! At that point I realized that their service department which is probably worth millions, stole my $100.00 light!!!! I guess I can still talk to some manager or something but some things are just not worth it. I am done with this dealership. STAY AWAY FROM THIS STEALERSHIP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! More
My experience with Nissan of Garden City was in a word, horrific. One of the finance managers, Jim Golden, gave me an extremely high interest rate. When I tried to negotiate this interest rate down, he p horrific. One of the finance managers, Jim Golden, gave me an extremely high interest rate. When I tried to negotiate this interest rate down, he proceeded to call me "sweetie" and "honey", which was incredibly demeaning. After I told him no deal, I got up to leave, and he told me "Maybe if you actually paid your bills on time, we wouldn't be having a problem". I couldn't even believe my ears. When I turned around and said he was completely unprofessional, he just sat there with a smug look on his face. DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM THIS DEALERSHIP! THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT THE CUSTOMER AND WILL DEMEAN YOUR CHARACTER RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOUR FACE! More
Ilve been through dealerships since 18, any of them fall intwo categories, make money or make customers. I stumbled across nissan of garden city with an online ad on optimum autos. They had a very good deal intwo categories, make money or make customers. I stumbled across nissan of garden city with an online ad on optimum autos. They had a very good deal with a used suv. I went to the dealership and we settled on getting the truck for the price (it was in very poor conditions) as long as parts were exchanged with our truck. That part went flawless. The crap hit the fan when a full month later they still didn't pay off the trade in note to chase. I had to show up 3 days in a row for them to finally overnight the check. We were ahead in our payments (thank god) so we incured no late fees from over due payments. Then their 'rebate' check would never come in... Came 3 more times for it too. It finally apeared at their 5 towns location and I had to pick up myself (30min drive). During this time my truck squeeked a lot, I brought it to my mechanic and we discovered that the truck had absolutely no shims on the brake pads. I inquired with the dealership (should've known better) and they said that would cost me 360 bucks for a truck that shouldve had their 140 plus pnt inspection (it was bought under extended warranty). This was also a truck that had passed insp the previous month too. I called up my friend at an infiniti dealership and he explained to me I had 90 day warranty that covered any of these problems, not to mention that a serious issue like this shouldve been covered before they put the truck for sale. I come back with this new knowledge and explain it to them, they don't budge again, saying they know nothing about it and that cars operate fine without them(so why bother makin the part?). They only got jarred when I threathened to use my lawyer to get the issue settled. All of a sudden they were ordering the parts, and they were instantly friendly. Two weeks later I get a call from svc and a mail saying the parts are in. As per usual they claim they open srv at 7am. Svc opened at 745am. Work started at 8am supposedly (yes I was the 1st one there). A full 1.5hrs later I get 'called' for a question. They don't have my parts in. No one knows anything 10mins later they come back telling me half the parts are in (they magically apeared) and that the full job will be done by days end somehow. Attrocious dealership from front to back, steer clear from this ghastly hole. More
The sales department was not bad, but the service department left a bad taste in your mouth. The service technicians all appear to be in training there. the assistant manager was disrespectful and ne department left a bad taste in your mouth. The service technicians all appear to be in training there. the assistant manager was disrespectful and needed a course in customer service. In 20 years of taking my cars to dealerships for repair this was the first time I have ever lost my temper with anyone. They would have to start over from scratch with almost their entire staff. The only helpful person there was Herman. He should be the one to teach the rest, including the manager and assistant manager, how to be honest and respectful to the customers. More
My friend bout a car from this delaership about a 8 months ago and was told that she could have her friends name removed from the lease after 6 months of good payment history and that the payments woul months ago and was told that she could have her friends name removed from the lease after 6 months of good payment history and that the payments would ebe less. Well, that was not the case and my friend needed to get her friends name of the lease so i decided to be a good friend and use my name and credit to her with the problem. Several times times we went there. the first time my friend was told they would put thru the refinace paperwork and that it would take about 2 weeks to get back to her with the information from the bank letting her know that she was approved or declined. Needless too say that never happend and that was supposed to be Ellen doint that. The second time i went with my friend and we were told that they dont do refinance and that we should go thru a credit union on our own to get a better rate for the lease. unfortunately that did not pan out becuase I was not related to my friend. The third time, i went with my friend and the cosigner that originally had on the lease and we managed to finally get someone who appeared to know what they were doing. it only took three hours of waiting and being told another 5 minutes after every 30 minute interval. the person helping us was Jose A., which i must say he was very professional but did not know how to estimate time at all. my friend and i filled out the paperwork and waited with anticipation and finally were told that everything went thru and it should only be another 5 minutes. after 30 minutes had passed we were told that the paper work to be done under my name first becuase my friends credit score was not high enough. And then 30 minutes later we are eing told that the payment are going to go up 50 dollars mnore per month. Sadly my friend needed to do this to get the first cosigner of the lease but what we did not know and failed to read, becuase after waiting three hours you just want to leave, the terms of the new agreement. No one bothers to read the paperwork that is being signed becuase you are so tired of waiting, which i thing that they doi intentionally. we signed a new contract and we were not told that care now will be 352.74/month for 71 months @ 7.19% interest. In addition to that, Jose told us that he was throwing in a service agreement which he told us was for free oil changes for the entire time that we had the car. I thought that was really nice of him but come to find out that he added an extended service agreement for $1500. I will be wrinting more on this since i will going back to the dealer ship to find out why there is an extended service agreement which i did not ask for nor did my friend and why the rate is high if my credit sciore is better then hers and why a nissa sentra 2008 would cost 25,000 if 8 payments were already made on it. The original lease was costing her 13,000 something plus the finance charge bring the total cost close to 20,000. And now the new cost is 5,000 with a new finace charge and a higher rate and higher monthly payment. Never, ever trust someones word at any dealership....read...if they rush you for a signature then walk away......... always ask more then one once or twice what it is that you are signing especially if you dont understand it clearly.
