I brought my 2008 VW Jetta in for a 40K mile service on Saturday 12/18. This was my first visit to Fladeboe; traditionally I have had the vehicle serviced at Cardinale Way VW in Corona. I arrived to the de Saturday 12/18. This was my first visit to Fladeboe; traditionally I have had the vehicle serviced at Cardinale Way VW in Corona. I arrived to the dealership after setting up my appointment with the service advisor Andy. Andy called me when my car was ready to be picked up. My family and I were out finishing up our Christmas shopping, we took a break from shopping and went to pick up the car. As I was walking into the service department three sales associates standing near the main customer lobby entrance, they were seemingly fixated at starring at me as I walked into the service area. At the time I didn’t think much of it assuming they were probably wondering if I was interested in buying a car. When I finished my business in the service department ($500 dollars later) I informed Andy that we needed to run to the Tustin marketplace to finish up shopping and asked if it would be ok if I parked my car in the customer parking area. Andy had politely replied “Sure”! As I was waiting for my vehicle my girlfriend called me to tell me that “these guys are starring at them (her and my two younger daughters) she asked if she should move the truck because she had assumed that they were upset at how I parked. (The driveway is fairly narrow and it’s tough to negotiate a large vehicle in and out of the parking area and I was taking two spots) She proceeded to park the truck elsewhere. I noticed that the two of the three guys were still there and at this point still glaring at me when I noticed one of them approaching me as I pulled out of the service area to the area marked “Customer Parking”. As I exited my vehicle, Dan (one guys that was glaring at me) was waiting for me near my driver’s side door and immediately came VERY close to me (so close I could tell that he drank coffee - for lack of better words he was defiantly in my personal space) He had said to me that I needed to move my car because this area is reserved for customers! He was clearly very worked up using loud tone and pointing at the street. I had told him that I was a customer and that Andy gave me to ok to park there, I had also mentioned that I would only be two hours max. He replied that service doesn’t have any say so as to who parks there and that those spots were reserved for new customers. I immediately realized that he was on the verge of becoming physical and backed up. He again told me to get my car out of the parking area NOW and park in the street. This time he was yelling and pointing at the street, his facial tone was very red and he was now becoming hostile. I asked him to let me speak to his manager and he said that the manager wasn’t available and he replied “Why don’t you just get in your car and get the F&*k out here!” Needless to say there was an elderly couple watching this whole incident unravel and my 14 year old daughter was looking at the Tan Beetle nearby and she ran to tell my girlfriend that this guy was cussing and screaming at me. Meanwhile, This Disgruntled employee Dan was gone looking for the manager, I told my wife and two girls to just stay in the truck. The sales manager Jeremy came out the greet me and was clearly confused as to what was happening. At this time I was clearly attempting to maintain composure and still shocked at what just happened. Jeremy apologized on behalf of Dan, I walked into the service department to inform Andy of what happened and he too was very sincere in his apologies. Obviously I did not feel at all comfortable leaving my car there and at this point was very regretful that I selected this dealership to perform the service on my car. It’s unfortunate that one persons poor attitude coupled with anger and hostility change the landscape our day, my family was clearly shaken up and the attitude that I have towards Fladeboe is now very poor. I brought this to the attention of Denice Fladeboe (CEO) and Pat Thomas (General Manager) - Denice confirmed that Pat would contact me to resolve this issue and to this date (01/06/11) No one from the dealer has called me. PATHETIC CUSTOMER SERVICE & ZERO FOLLOW UP, GO SOMEWHERE ELSE FOLKS - THERE ARE 5 OTHER VW Dealers in OC… More
