My sales person, Devaughnta Oliver, was very patient, cordial and easy to work with. The sales part was a smooth experience. However my finance experience with Stephen Weniger was horrible… to say the cordial and easy to work with. The sales part was a smooth experience. However my finance experience with Stephen Weniger was horrible… to say the least. First, he kept trying to tell me that my excellent credit rating of 850 was not eligible for the Honda finance rates of 5.9. He was insisting, my rate was 8.9. I had to pull up the Honda site on my phone to prove my point. He then changed it. I was interested in an extended warranty but he made that process very unpleasant. He would not give me the price but only how much it increased my payment. I asked him for my monthly payment and he would not give it to me. He said it was cumbersome to access. I had to calculate my payment and price of the warranty on my phone calculator! This was a ridiculous and exhausting process. He was very reluctant to disclose hard numbers. I agreed to the basic warranty but when looking at the documents I was signing, I noticed the final finance amount was much more than agreed upon with the sales dept. He said it was reflecting the accruing interest but that was not the case. He had charged me double than agreed upon for the warranty. I was frustrated at having to figure this out on my own calculator and cancelled the extended warranty altogether. He then got visibly upset and pounded the keyboard and said “ So much for my end of month sales!” I was shocked. He called in someone to help change the paperwork in a very disgruntled manner. I heard the other finance person outside the office telling him to calm down. When he came back in, he did not speak to me nor barely explained what I needed to sign. When Vaughn came to get me, Mr Weniger was rude to both of us. He didn’t even hand me the final documents or say thank you for your business. I hope that some one reading this can make amends for this mortifying finance experience. I would have up and left before buying the car but I just wanted to finish and leave. The next day I went back and spoke to the finance manager, Frank, about my financing experience. He was apologetic and said he would speak with Mr. Weniger. Honestly, I feel Mr. Weniger treated me that way because I was a single female purchasing on my own. What a step backwards. I would have rated Vaughn alone 5 stars and Mr. Weniger 0 stars.
