We purchased the car on Saturday. I tried to make the down payment with a check, but they would not accept a check from me because I did not have the same last name as my husband. We had to use our debit card which then exceeded our daily limit. This prevented us from using the card for the rest of the weekend before Christmas. Max tried to tell us that we could put our existing plates on the new car and would have seven days to transfer the registration with the registry. This is not true. This is only applicable if you dispose of the previous vehicle. We had already told Max that we still had the vehicle and were not disposing of it at that time. He argued and said that he was certain we were incorrect. Luckily we knew better. For some reason, the vehicle would not be ready until Tuesday. We were not sure what the delay was because usually you can drive a vehicle off the lot. We knew we would have to wait until Monday, but was surprised that the dealership needed an extra day. It was supposed to be ready Tuesday morning. Monday afternoon we came back to drop off the bank check and asked what the delay was. Max said he was waiting to hear back from the Registry. I thought it was strange, since the registry does not really take phone calls, but I thought maybe he meant the registry runner. The next day, I called Max a few times. I was unable to reach him. He did leave me a message saying that he was waiting to hear back from the insurance company. Interesting, since the day before he was just waiting for the registry. Even funnier is that the VP of the insurance agency is my sister, and we have him her direct contact information. The reality was that Max had never sent them the forms. He also said he was waiting for the person to come do the inspection sticker. I have never heard of a traveling inspection sticker company. He actually suggested that we come pick up the vehicle go and get it inspected ourselves and come back to the dealership with the receipt on Tuesday afternoon, well after we not only paid in cash for the vehicle, but paid the dealership to this work. Overall I found Mac to be arrogant, disrespectful, and most concerning, dishonest! More
