After contacting dealer about a specific car seen on the web that appeared on their lot, it wasn't. While we did end up with a car of our choosing, the experience took way too long. There was a miscommunication when I brought my car in for maintenance service — a projected wait of 2 hours after appointment time. The reason was that the dealer was backed up. The service advisor who processed me asked if I would wait at the dealership or wanted to be transported somewhere by Uber. I told him I would wait in the designated wait area at the dealership. I was there for two hours. There were about 9 or 10 people waiting already. One by one they were called by name by a dealership staff member to get their car. Two people who arrived after I did were called before I decided to ask what the status was for my car’s service. When I talked to the advisor he told me he had texted me to say my car was ready — I did not receive it because he texted my landline and not my mobile phone.I do not remember his telling me when I checked in that he would do so and so did not verify the correct number to call. I assumed he knew I was in the waiting room because that is what I told him. Why did no one come to the waiting area and call out my name? This was a bad experience for me. I will say that in general I am very pleased with most experiences I have had with this dealership. It was just a bad day. I do think it should be clarified, though, that when I make an appointment to bring my car in, it is in reality an appointment for me to show up. Not an appointment for the dealer to begin service on the car when I arrive at the designated time. There is always a line in front of me — maybe the scheduling is now like the air traffic industry — overbook to ensure the crews are kept busy and more people can be accommodated each day — if they are willing to wait.
