I purchased a used vehicle form Old Orchard Nissan on January 23, 2025 with no problems from Prenston our salesman. There were a few minor repairs that I wanted to have fixed so before leaving the dealer January 23, 2025 with no problems from Prenston our salesman. There were a few minor repairs that I wanted to have fixed so before leaving the dealership, I was told to call back the following day to make an appointment. Since then, I have made 3 attempts in the last 3 1/2 weeks with no avail. Each time I call and ask for either the sales manager Cody, Prenston, the salesman who sold us the vehicle, or Eric, the one who helped us with financing, no one seems to be available. I have to leave a message and am told someone will get back to me. Well it is now February 17, 2025 and I have yet to hear from anyone. I called today for the 4th time and Rachel answered the phone telling me that no sales manager nor anyone higher up was available. I then asked for a corporate number and she said that she didn't have that number but to reassure me that I was not being ghosted. So from my experience at the Old Orchard Nissan dealership, once they take your money, you are no longer a priority. It's as if you don't exist. More

The details: I contacted Old Orchard after finding what appeared to be a really good deal on a 2023 Grand Cherokee. I filled out the online contact form but never heard back, so I called to inquire. I spoke with someone who identified himself as Cody and who indicated that he was "one of the sales managers" Cody told me the vehicle was available, but when I asked about online sale and arranging delivery out of state (I am in Alabama), I was told that they did not do any documentation online nor did they arrange for delivery. I was told that all sales are done in person. This should have been a red flag. However I was interested in the car, so I asked about putting down a deposit to hold the car until I could arrange to travel to Skokie. I was told that they do not do that either. Again, in retrospect, this should have been another red flag. I asked about additional fees and was told that there would be an IL doc fee and tax, tag, title for Alabama. When I asked about other fees, I was told there were none. I specifically asked about a dealer prep fee or similar fee and was again assured that what I stated above were the only additions to the advertised purchase price. When I asked about a final price with all of these items included, I was told that that could only be done in person (again, should have been a red flag). When I asked about payment methods, I was told that they accept wire transfer, cashiers check, and personal check. Since it was a holiday weekend and we were considering coming on Monday (President's Day, when banks would be closed), Cody said that would be no problem. I could just write them a personal check and they would confirm funds availability when the bank was open on Tuesday. As a backup, I was told I could complete a financing application which would not be processed unless it was determined that the check would not clear. We determined that the vehicle was still available around closing time on Saturday evening, so we made arrangements to travel on Sunday and were told we had an "appointment" for Monday at 9am, when the dealership opened. We were told to come in and ask for Tom (presumably another one of the "sales managers"). Fast forward to Monday morning, we show up at the dealership a couple of minutes after 9am. We ask for Tom, but are shuffled off to a random salesperson. We test drive the car. Everything is in order. The salesperson does some calculations and comes back with a figure of about $51,000 on a car that was advertised for just over $34,000!!! I had already explained that I did not want warranties or anything other than the legally required items. And guess what? There was $1800 for dealer prep and another charge for VIN etch for several hundred dollars as well! After two or three iterations of "let me talk to my manager", we finally talked to a person who we were told was the general manager (no idea whether he was or not). We explained our multiple conversations with the person named Cody. We were told "oh, he's just someone in our BDC (I assume Business Development Center?) who works incoming calls and he doesn't know or have authority to represent what our rules and fees are!! And that there was no way they would take our personal check without first establishing a 72 month loan that could be reversed later (if the check cleared). I understand not wanting to take a personal check without getting confirmation from a bank on funds availability , but this is what THEIR representative told us we could do. If this had not been an option, we would have never made the trip. So the short version of this story is we had a one-night trip to Chicago that cost us a fair amount of money to test drive a car that we liked but then we got overtaken by old-school sales tactics of the style that make most people hate car dealers. Please beware! More

Tom did not discuss with us anything about having to raise the price of said vehicle to accommodate that better trade value. I even asked for a written break down but was technically refused. He just put his hand over the original copy of their break down sheet saying "Don't look at that, I removed all that." Still not saying he had added those removals to the purchase price. Very sneaky Tom. But, my fault for not reading all the papers during signing where it clearly stated on the title transfer $31,838 purchase price. I still feel I paid a fair price for the Pathfinder and am very happy with it. I do have to add that Moby was very unprofessional in the way he talked down to me about how people say NO to his spiel on extended warranty. Never even giving him time to explain about all the things that can go wrong with these new computer run vehicles. This is not my first rodeo pal. But thanks for getting me riled up enough to say " Well, what we can do is put my plates back on my car and I can go home." I did by the car and lo and behold I still have 30000 miles left on the powertrain warranty from Nissan. Overall, I am happy with the car but will not go back to this dealership. More

What a HORRIBLE experience - ZERO stars! We live 7 hours from the dealership. We called numerous times about 1 specific EV vehicle. Without getting into the whole mess of them canceling after we had booked a non-refundable hotel room, they finally called us back a couple days later, confirming the car readiness, so we drove the 7 hours. We get there to find out there is no fob and we CANNOT drive the car. Other dealerships would have ensured the car was fulled charged and ready to drive BEFORE we got there. We made it very clear over the phone that we were coming from central Ohio - there is simply no excuse for this. We drove 14 hours that day for NOTHING! They did offer to fill our tank - wow. More
