I wanted to deal with dealerships via email, since I knew what model and options I wanted, and didn't want to waste time driving all over. Other dealerships were up front about pricing and financing options, what model and options I wanted, and didn't want to waste time driving all over. Other dealerships were up front about pricing and financing options, and even had the ability to complete a ballpark valuation of my trade in using internet tools. The response to my inquiries to Open Road was "come down and we'll match price," rather than providing me a competitive price as requested. By the time they followed up to start asking for the info they needed to value my trade, I had already corresponded with three other dealers, received offers, and was sitting in a showroom signing paperwork.
