Called back at their request. Spoke to a VP, a family member. She let me tell the whole story except the moment I mentioned him possibly treating me this way was because I was a woman, she jumped to defend him before I got the words completely out. Apparently he gets that complaint a lot. Then told me she already knew about the whole situation, and defended every bit of bad behavior on behalf of the service manager. Even used his words. So obviously she was prepped for this. He obviously knew he had behaved badly and went and premised my possible call. She kept saying, “He’s the expert”, “we stand behind our people”. Even to the point of repeating something he told her which was completely different than what they wrote on the service document. She apologized repeatedly, but always the backhanded type apology. “I’m sorry you feel that way”, “there’s nothing we can do but go forward”. Many times saying “I wasn’t there so don’t know what happened”, but whatever I said, she would say “I heard differently”. Never once addressing his behavior; never once actually apologizing for his behavior. Always just going back to “we are the experts, this is why you bring your vehicle here”. Obviously they don’t care. Totally explains their overall two star rating. They are more interested in defending their poor employees than keeping customers. This was obviously just an automated response to a bad review, not them actually caring. She could have solved this all by a real apology. I told her she could have acknowledged they were wrong, and offered as little as 10% discount off my next service to show they cared and I would have been happy, but she obviously felt it was more important to defend the employee. Prior to this I was ready to just move on, never think about them again and use a different dealership; but now that I see this is how they treat people I will continue to follow up directly with Chevy about it so they can maybe be stopped from doing this to other people.
