My 300 needed a factory recall update, service light status, and a new battery. They are a busy service shop and he told me it may take over a day to get the are in queue for repair. I got a rental for the day, he continued to text me with updates, and the care was prepared at the end of the day I brought it in. Not the extra day I was planning on. Where’s my car?! I went to buy a new Wrangler. I picked one out and negotiated a deal. When it came time to pick the car up, I did a walk around and found a deep scrat I went to buy a new Wrangler. I picked one out and negotiated a deal. When it came time to pick the car up, I did a walk around and found a deep scratch on the passenger side rear fender. I told them that I didn’t want to buy a brand new car with a significant scratch. Please swap it out for another one. Unfortunately, there weren’t any other autos with similar options. Therefore, I simply said I wasn’t going to buy the car. The sales manager proposed that they replace the fender and deliver it on Tuesday (this was on a Friday). I told them I would come back on Tuesday to buy the car. They balked at that idea. It was either buy the car and then wait for the repair or walk away. I should’ve walked away. They had played a lot of games with the numbers up to that point, but, through my vigilance, I had negotiated a decent deal. A fair deal to both of us. Therefore I agreed to buy the car and wait for the repair. Now, it’s two weeks later. I haven’t received one phone call updating me on the status of the car. However, I know it’s not ready because I have initiated several inquiries. My texted inquiries to my salesman were met with “I have no idea, I don’t talk to service.” I called service. One call just rang and rang with no answer and on voicemail option. The two times I was able to reach service, I was given excuses about why the work wasn’t done. Stuff happens. However, it’s all about how you handle these things. There was zero proactive customer service attempts despite me just becoming a brand new customer. Sales didn’t care. Service didn’t care. I guess Jeep doesn’t care. This is my 3rd Jeep. The other two were purchased in a Chicago suburb. Those dealerships were excellent. Stay away from Palmer. More
