First of all I need to say that I'm among the small number of "strange" people in this world who actually ENJOYS car research and shopping, to include venturing into dealerships just to look at the off number of "strange" people in this world who actually ENJOYS car research and shopping, to include venturing into dealerships just to look at the offerings. At those times where I get serious about replacing a vehicle, I enjoy doing lots of homework to narrow the field of vehicles to research thoroughly. That being said, I/we (including my wife) narrowed our selections to three vehicles to lease or purchase. Ultimately, we zeroed in on the Hyundai Santa Fe Calligraphy and the Palisade, either the Limited or Calligraphy. As we visited a few dealers and drove the vehicles, the Santa Fe was cut because of its ride quality compared to the Palisade. Our choice of the Palisade Calligraphy vs. Limited was to justify the additional approximately $900 between the decked-out Limited against the "standard" Calligraphy. We just liked the additional pizzazz of the Calligraphy, so that's what we focused our search on, seeking the best deal vs. MSRP. Color wasn't a big concern, except for WHITE, which was out. Paramount was the only dealer who was willing to give a discount vs. MSRP, so we began talking with Cole. When he said they had a Sierra Burgundy with Beige interior available, we got very interested because I didn't think the Calligraphys came in that color, yet that was my first choice for the Limited trim. So, we came out to see it and drive it (I have to actually DRIVE the vehicle I plan to purchase) and, as they say, the rest is history! More
