Dishonest dealership overcharging 10k+ ADM over MSRP CTR Greedy Stealership denying a honda fan who made a deposit to purchase a CIVIC TYPE R for MSRP, then turned down and breaks the agreement contract and Greedy Stealership denying a honda fan who made a deposit to purchase a CIVIC TYPE R for MSRP, then turned down and breaks the agreement contract and add a mark up of over $10,000 over MSRP. Then uses it as an excuse to make use of the car as a so called charity vehicle and show car for events to lure in customers. Dealership decides not to sell the car due to the fact that they are afraid the owner will flip this car more than MSRP, in fact that this dealership is doing so themselves with a 10,000 added mark up on the vehicle. Good job on behind a honest dealer, next time stick to your own words when somebody has an agreement to a car purchased for MSRP. Response from the ownerin the last week Given the overwhelming response to the introduction of the Civic Type R, we have found ourselves in a difficult position. We don’t believe that it is right or fair to the customers in our community to charge beyond what the manufacturer suggests. In the market we currently find ourselves, if we do the right thing and sell a Type R at MSRP, we know that unless it’s an enthusiast that plans on enjoying the car over the long term, someone will then flip the car for a substantial profit to take advantage of another consumer. We don’t think this is appropriate and have decided to wait until the market calms down or additional Type Rs are made available. We have refunded your deposit and deeply apologize for this inconvenience. As the owner, it should be understood that I have the first right of refusal to acquire any car in our inventory. I have chosen to do so with the Type R and instead, this very weekend I will be giving rides for charity at the Portland International Raceway. The car will appear at a number of Cars & Coffee events and will be displayed often throughout our greater community. I can’t think of a better use of our first Honda Civic Type R. If and when we acquire additional Type Rs, we will hold them until the time the market calms down and the cars can be retailed at a fair and equitable price. On behalf of my staff, I apologize for any mixed messages that have been communicated. Sincerely, Parker Johnstone | Owner More
2017 CIVIC TYPE R NIGHTMARE!!! Where do I start... Back in October 2016, I called Wilsonville Honda and spoke with Gaylen Cashman about putting a deposit for a 2017 Civic Type R. Where do I start... Back in October 2016, I called Wilsonville Honda and spoke with Gaylen Cashman about putting a deposit for a 2017 Civic Type R. It was agreed in writing that I would receive the car at MSRP and be placed FIRST on the list. I paid a $500 deposit to hold my spot. Gaylen updated me on the status of the car every month until April 2017. As the car neared arrival, I was told that the owner would be purchasing the FIRST car that arrived. The manager of the store, Larry/Bob, called to tell me that I can purchase their second unknown allocation for a mark-up of $10,000 over sticker price. I was infuriated with this unprofessional and greedy business practice. I waited months and missed on other opportunities to purchase this car because I took this dealership at it's word. I have all emails to prove my position. I would NEVER ever do business with this dealership again. Find another dealership that will treat you better. I WILL BE FILING A COMPLAINT TO AMERICAN HONDA AND THE FTC FOR WILSONVILLE'S CORRUPT AND SHODDY BUSINESS PRACTICE!!! More

Distraught when I scrapped my front bumper on a sidewalk curb, only to discover my mishap had completely ripped my front bumper off leaving it hanging by a few plastic bolts. As I was in the middle of purchasing a new home, all I could think of was 'how much was this going to cost me?' I was able to get an appointment the same week and when I showed Mark the damage - he politely told me, we can fix it. Me: 'how much?'; Mark 'free.' Music to my ears! And you guys did - replaced some clips/nuts/bolts and poof - my bumper was back to normal! Mark, thank you for providing excellent customer service. Because of you - Parker Johnstone will always have a loyal customer! Sincerely, Cathy More

I am the most indecisive person but she never made me feel rushed to close the deal. My only complaint is that the color I wanted wasn't available at this dealership and it would cost me more to have them get one for me. More

We were interested in the Honda CRV and Gaylen was our Customer Service Representative. She was friendly, very knowledgeable about the car, patient and not at all pushy about her"product", while representing it in an excellent fashion. She definitely gave us a great deal to think about and represented the dealership well. Thank you Honda for an outstanding Service Representative! More

I visited a couple of dealerships in Gladstone and had just ok experiences. I found a cute used Honda Fit at Parker Johnstone Honda listed on CarGurus. This experience happened during an ongoing deluge in Portland at the end of Feb. and the beginning of early May. I purchased that little Fit on a typical rainy day. After a mix up re the arrival of the check for my purchase I went to pick up the car. A friend noticed scratches on the rear bumper that I had not seen, but, hey, I had paid for the car and really needed that vehicle. When the rain stopped a few days later, I saw a multitude of very visible paint chips on the doors, and front and rear bumpers. I went to three body /detailing shops and all three indicated that the Honda would require an entire paint job for the cost of $2500-3000. I contacted Parker Johnstone and the used car manager agreed to look at the vehicle. He stated that the car had been sold in a hurry and should not have been released with these exterior problems but, he only agreed to repaint the front and rear bumpers and to "touch up" the numerous rock chips on the doors. To make a long story short, when I decide to sell the car, I will have to invest in an expensive paint job. That has been my major complaint. However, shortly after driving the car for a week, the tire inflation warning light came on. All four tires were poorly inflated. In addition, in a few weeks the service warning light came on. Although my Honda was "Certified" and had reportedly been through a thorough check on all systems, the technicians had also failed to reset the oil level indicator. Finally, a plastic cover is missing from the bottom of the steering column. I have purchased several new and used cars and have never had such a negative experience. I can, however, state that Brandee Weppler in Finance was great! More

We've always cringed at the thought of hassling with pushy salespeople and trying to work out a deal with buying a new vehicle, but Gaylen was delightful to work with. No pressure, very helpful and knowledgeable about all the vehicles. Once we figured out what we wanted, we really appreciated her keeping us updated on the arrival date. She then spent time getting us acquainted with all the features the Pilot has to offer. It was overall a very positive experience! More
