Parks Ford Gainesville gave me back my vehicle with a new leak and totally inoperable; I ended up repairing it myself for < 5% of what they quoted. A routine oil change and tire rotation led to my vehicle leak and totally inoperable; I ended up repairing it myself for < 5% of what they quoted. A routine oil change and tire rotation led to my vehicle becoming inoperable the next day. The engine began overheating and I found that the coolant was dry. Discovered some harnesses in the engine bay that were not properly reconnected. Near one was a pinhole leak in the coolant reservoir return hose. They wanted $1500 to replace that hose, the coolant reservoir (which they said was cracked), and the coolant distribution widget because they said it's got old seals. I was surprised by the price. Additionally, they recommended ANOTHER $1500 to replace the remaining coolant system hoses. They also remained quite confident that the original service had nothing to do with the new problem. The service manager explained that they charge $300 per hour for labor just to be able to stay in business. So I looked up a YouTube video. $60 worth of parts on Amazon and 2 hours of wrenching solved this $1500 problem I got handed. Learned that I should avoid Ford Parks Gainesville service center until it changes ownership (again). More
