All my questions regarding the service tasks were explained in detail and resolved. There were some items due to normal "wear" that will probably be needed to looked at next time. I brought my car in on 18,000 miles for a puncture and a service, they just took care of the puncture and said I didn’t ask for the annual service. Pretty angry that I had to pay as well when I was told tha service, they just took care of the puncture and said I didn’t ask for the annual service. This last service experience did not measure up to those from the past. In the past my service advisor was always Dan Halliburton. Unfortunatley Dan was not at work on July 5th when I took my car in for i from the past. In the past my service advisor was always Dan Halliburton. Unfortunatley Dan was not at work on July 5th when I took my car in for its 60,000 mile service appointment. This time my service advisor was Robert Chandra. Robert recommended the following services in addition to the usual oil/filter change and tire rotation: fuel system service; CVT fluid service, brake system flush, coolant system service, and tune-up. I asked about how much it would be since I like to have an idea in advance and he said $1,700 and something. (I don't remember the exact figure.) I gave him the okay to proceed. He called me several hours later to let me know my rear brake pads were worn down. I gave him the okay to replace them. When I picked up my car the total cost was $2,146.93. I expected the total to be higher than the initial quote due to the addition of the replacement of the rear brake pads. When I got home, however, I noticed on the paperwork that the coolant service wasn't even done, nor was there any indication that the multi point inspection was performed. I also noticed that the costs of the Brake System Flush, CVT Fluid Service and Fuel System Service were MUCH higher than when the same services were performed on 4/6/2021. I understand inflation, but the current service costs aren't even at the high end of the current Kelley Blue Book Repair Pricing Fair Repair Range; they're much higher, especially the CVT Fluid Service and Fuel System Service. When I broke these two services into labor and parts and compared them to Kelley Blue Book, the cost of labor for the CVT Fluid Service was only $8 above the high end of the fair price range. The cost of parts, on the other hand, was $174.94 higher than the high end of the fair price range!! What the heck! I noticed I was charged $27.50 for a quart of CVTF-II . It needed 12 quarts which totaled $330. The MSRP for a quart of genuine certified Subaru CVTF-II is $17.14. Twelve of them would be $205.68, which is $124.31 less than what I was charged. Why the significant up charge? As for the Fuel System Service, the total cost was $314.87 above the high end of the Kelley Blue Book fair price range. That's huge! When I broke it down to parts and labor, the parts were just a little above the high end of the fair price range, but the labor was significantly above. $214.87 above the high end of the Kelley Blue Book fair price range to be exact. Again, why so much more? I realize going to a dealership will cost me more and I'm okay with that because I appreciate the fact that my car is being worked on by people who understand Subarus and who use genuine Subaru parts. I do not like the fact that some of the services were significantly higher than what's considered "fair". Inflation is one thing but feeling like I've been taken advantage of is quite another. I can't imagine what my total would have been had the coolant service, which was supposed to have been done and wasn't, was included! Thankfully my car runs great and I'm very happy with the quality of the service jobs. The fact that I feel taken advantage of in terms of the costs is why I've given this experience such a low rating. I hope someone from the dealership will reach out to me and explain why the costs I've mentioned were so high. Perhaps there was a mistake in the calculations? More
