After recently selling my 2007 Chevy Tahoe LT, I was in need of another truck to tow my camper with. With so many different trucks on the market, I decided to do my homework MONTHS in advance. Having only owned GM trucks in the past, I was shopping around for a new 2014 Silverado...or so I thought. Pete Moore Chevrolet is close to my house, so I went there first. My wife has purchased two slightly used cars from CJ at Pete Moore Imports in the last 2 1/2 years, and has always been more than happy with their pricing, sales and service. So, I decided to give CJ a try myself. The first day I went truck shopping, CJ wasn't available, but I was greeted by a friendly and energetic young salesman named Marcos Casillas. He hadn't been in the car business very long, but he seemed genuinely friendly and wasn't pushy at all. I told Marcos that I WAS NOT buying a truck for at least two months, and he was okay with that. He NEVER pushed me to buy anything at all. He allowed me to do my research and shop at MY speed and comfort level...as if he didn't care if he might be missing out on another car SALE somewhere else on the lot. I really appreciated this! Feeling 100% comfortable with his salesmanship, I went back three other times to see him--even after going to the other Chevy Store in town, and the Dodge Store too. Each time I went, Marcos shook my hand with a big smile as if I were an old friend. During the course of 4 visits, he spent a total of about 3-4 HOURS with me, helping me narrow down EXACTLY the truck I wanted. I drove the 2014 Silverado two more times, but also drove a CPO 2012 Chevy Avalanche too. The Avalanche has the same muscular body styling as our old 2007 Tahoe we loved so much, but was much more "upscale". I would also convert into a pickup truck when we needed it to, which is a really neat feature. In the end, I bought the "nearly new" CPO 2012 Avalanche LT at a VERY fair price, and I was given a fair price for my trade-in too. Other dealerships had low-balled me on my trade-in appraisal, so the Pete Moore Chevy Store made me very happy. In the finance department, I dealt with "Don". Like Marcos, he was never pushy, but was obviously very seasoned and knowledgeable of the CPO program and various extended warranties available. I left his office VERY HAPPY, having gotten a great interest rate, affordable low monthly payment, excellent extended warranty and NOTHING ELSE I didn't need or want. It may seem corny, but after a sales experience like that, I asked to speak with Pete Moore personally. I let him know how genuinely happy my family was having dealt with his dealerships a THIRD time, and what a great job Marcos and Don had done for us. You've got a good thing going there, Pete...you and your team keep up the good work and WE WILL BE BACK! I feel that Marcos Casillas "gets it". If you wants to be successful selling cars, you can't act like the stereotypical "car salesman". I judge Dickie Heckler to be a good person. I can do this as I have supervised over 400 folks in my work life. My new car buy had stalled and the job was assigned to Dickie to resolve. I bought the Corvette and really enjoyed his knowledge in closing the deal and then explaining how things in the car changed and how they worked. I found out that Dickie had attended a special school on the new Corvette so this is the man in Pensacola to see if its time to buy the fantastic C7. Buying a new vehicle can be a very frustrating experience. We visited several dealers in the Pensacola area and were not overjoyed with the tactics used to back up the numbers presented. We were looking for a specific type of automobile to replace our Toyota Venza. After a few days of searching we decided to return to the outstanding salesperson at Pete Moore Chevrolet with whom we had done business before and look at what the Equinox LTZ had to offer as compared to the Cadillac SRX and Highlander, Jeff Lee was, as usual, well equipped to present the vehicle. We had many questions, some very technical, and Jeff had an understandable answer for all. Jeff Lee is an excellent sales consultant who knows his product line, very courteous, no high pressure and is a pleasure to deal with. We plan to visit the dealership again within the next couple of months with the intention replacing our 2010 Silverado with a 2014 Silverado. Jeff is aware of this and we expect nothing but the best and I'm sure that will be the case. Over the last 12 years we have purchased 5 vehicles from Pete Moore, during that time Jeff was our sales consultant for 7 of those years and we have made many referrals recommending Pete Moore Chevrolet and specifically Jeff Lee.
