My only gripe it the amount of time it took to get through the process. We were there twice, once to negotiate and another to pick up the car. Each time we were there for three hours. A lot of that time was spent waiting for things to happen. I'm from CT. I emailed/talked to Honda dealers from Boston to north Jersey and Planet Honda gave me the best price. It was worth traveling. EDIT: I've downgraded the customer service and overall experience. Since I’m out of state I have a NJ Non-Resident Temporary Plate. It’s good for twenty days. I wanted to register it myself but my salesman (who is no longer with Plant Honda), his manager, the finance guy, and another manager all told me that since I’m financing part of it that they had to do the registration. They assured me that I’d have my plates within twenty days and that they would overnight them just to make sure. After several discussions I relented and let them do the registration. Well its twenty one days and still no plates. Starting 10 days before the temp expiration I started calling and sending texts to my salesman (not knowing he wasn’t there anymore) and the dealership. Nobody returns my voice mails or texts or got back to me when they said they would...or at all for that matter. I had to call them everytime. At the eighteen day mark I called the State of CT. It turns out they received the application from a “titling agency” they day before (day seventeen). They processed it that day and overnighted to the agency and I was even able to get the plate number (there is currently no backlog so there is currently a one day turn around). I was actually surprised that it only took about ten minutes to get the info After calling CT I called the dealership to find out what’s up. I started to get the run around and nobody had the answer. First I’m told the person who does out of state registrations is out. I had to request to talk to a manager twice before I got one. He said they didn’t have the plates and because they use an agency (not sure how the person who does out of state registrations fits into this) and had no way to check the status. I explained that’s completely untrue because I got the info from CT in about ten minutes. I figure that since I don’t know the process for this but was still able to get the info so quickly they should be able to easier than I can. I explained to him the time line and how CT didn’t receive the application until three days before the temp expires. He said if that’s the case they should get the plates the next day (day nineteen) and they’ll overnight it to me. I asked what I do about the expiring temp. He said to just keep driving and if I get a ticket they’d pay it. Yes, a manager at Plant Honda told me to drive illegally. I explained I need to travel out of state this weekend and I’m not willing to drive across several states with an expired paper plate. He promised they would overnight it today so I’d have them tomorrow before I go on my trip and that he would call me this morning. Well, big surprise, he didn’t call. Again, I had to call them only to find out he isn’t even today (or doesn’t come in ‘til later today...not clear on that). Apparently he couldn’t be bothered to ensure someone was taking care of my plates knowing he wasn’t going to be there. The person that answered the phone said the plates were there and they would send them out in a couple days. I had to go through the whole explanation again. The woman told me it usually takes up to 60 days to get out of state plates so this was pretty quick; which makes no sense because the temp is only good for 20 days and can’t be renewed. Either the people (multiple) who assured I would have them within 20 days lied or the woman on the phone was misinformed. Since the non-resident temp plate is only good for twenty days, I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt and go with the latter. Well she told me they would overnight them and call me with the tracking number. We’ll see if that happens. It appears once the sale is made they don’t put much effort into customer service. They should track all registrations to ensure they’re done on time. Once my salesman left there should have been someone checking sale to ensure everything is complete. They’re very disorganized and are very poor at returning calls once the sale is done. More
