The latter would allow for a more comprehensive, clearer and readable review. So, the following review is comprised of 2 reviews; the first for Luis Cubi and the second for Jamie Vasco. Review: Luis Cubi: On Wednesday June 20, 2012 i came to Planet Honda for the express purpose to checkout 2 honda civics i had seen on their website. You see, my 2001 honda civic ex brought brand new and driven out from their showroom had, after giving me 204,000+ miles, been leaking antifreeze for about 2+ weeks. Seeing that the time between feeding it antifreeze was dimishing between a few days to a day, it became clear that after 11 years of no engine/transmission problems it was time to say goodbye. And so, i met Luis and told him about the 2 cars i came to see. I also told him that i was in the market to purchase a used civic, within a week. Luis showed me the 2 cars i came to see and like any salesperson would do offered to go for a test drive in each but, i declined only because after driving my civic for 11+ years i was pretty much knew what the ride would be like but more importantly i was confident about the reliability of the civic itself. One car was a 2010 civic-lx and the other was a 2009 civic ex. The 2010 model was a coupe whereas the 2009 was a sedan. Together we may about 10 ten trips so i could look at the cars, sit in them, play with the controls then back to the office to talk about a deal and then back again to the cars. Through all of this, luis showed extreme patience and a great attitude. He was extremely serious about getting the best deal for me; they offered a lower rate, and a deduction for customer loyalty and even guaranteed they would place a hold on one of the 2 cars with any money for me only for the promise i would come back and make the purchase from them. In all, we spent approximately 7hrs looking at cars and talking about a deal. Even after all of that i decided to go home so i could have some time to myself to decide between the 2. Thats when luis somehow figured out why i was so hesitate about making the deal then; you see, he figured out that i was leaning towards the 2010 model though it had more than twice the milleage (21000 compared to 9000) than the 2009 because it was a coupe and the 2009 was a sedan. That's when he asked me to give him a little more time while he got some managers involved. He didn't tell me why, but i felt it was the least i could do after all the time he spent with me and the deals he was able to get. He came back in about 10 minutes to tell me that his manager's had located a 2009 civic ex coupe with only 12000 miles; it was being detailed at the time luis and i was painstaking searching the lots. The bottom line here is that all customers are not the same; some are unwilling for whatever reason to disclose exactly what it is they really want and that can leave a salesperson at a disadvantage. That is of course if the salesperson isn't smart, cordial and persistant. Luis had all of these qualities and because of that, i left there that day with the car i WANTED! Thanks, luis for your time and your patience and for the deal you was able to get me for the car i really wanted. Also, thanks for throwing in the door guards and pin-striping too...:-) Review: Jaime Vasco This review should be read after reading the one i wrote for Luis Cubi. You see, Jaime is the manager that luis worked with and who was able to get the fantastic deal and deductions on my 2009 civic ex. Moreover, it was jaime who was able to discover that the car that would make me the happiest was currently being detailed. Now, here's the good part; jamie who had already offered to lower my finance rate, and give a customer loyalty deduction and give me a few hundred on my worthless 2001 civic ex and then place a hold the car of my choice till i come back to purchase it that weekend, ended up not only giving me all that but the 2009 civic ex he found he even reduced the price on that. You see, the 2009 civic ex he found was one with leather plus an on-board navigation system. He worked all that in for a little more than 300 dollars more than the price i would've paid for either the 2009/2010 models i had come to see. Jaime spent considerable time with me to determine how we could come to make a deal. He could see that i was extremely impressed by the 2009 civic ex-l/nav he had found but that it was considerably more than i was willing to shell out. I'm not sure why he did it; perhaps he appreciated the loyalty i showed planet honda over the years by having virtually all my servicing done there and yet, he kept telling me that he wanted me to leave that day as a happy and satisfied customer. Maybe it was more of the latter; customer satisfaction was at the top of his list. Jaime took time to get to know me; what i did, where i lived. He was mostly intrigued with why i came to planet honda to have my car serviced since i lived about 50+ miles away. I told him that i had purchased the car from planet honda and decided to return their for my couple of maintenance checks. I found the service techs very friendly and they did good work so i kept coming back in spite of the drive. Nonetheless, as we were talking Jaime was crunching numbers seeking to find some sort of middle ground where we could agree. At the very end, i told him that the 2009 car was just too expensive and that i would go home and decide on 1 of the 2 others i had come to see. It was then that he asked me at what price, no matter how crazy it was, that i would be willing to make a deal that day. He also said he couldn't guarantee anything but he just wanted to know the price and so, i gave him a price that was about 300 dollars more than i was going to pay for either of the 2 civics i had come to see. Jaime left to speak with some other managers and after about 15 minutes or so, he came back to me with a big smile on his face and said deal!. I'm writing this review and i still can't believe that i left planet honda with that much car! First, just having a ex coupe would make my day but, to get a leather interior and an onboard navigation system too was unbelievable. So, all dealerships, sales consultants and sales managers are not all the same. Many people liken the process of buying a car like going to motor vehicle, but thats not my experience at planet honda. Jaime was more concerned that i get the car that would make me the happiest; he knew i was prepared to purchase one of the other 2 that weekend but he knew i would be settling for 2nd best. Somehow, he was able to work with the other managers to get a price that felt good about spending and with all the extras. The bottom line, is that Jaime and the other managers and sales consultants at planet honda place customer satisfaction at the top of their list. Thats why i came back to purchase another civic and thats why i will continue to drive out of my way, 50+ miles to have this one serviced too. Thanks Jaime! Lastly, i should mention that the above rating applies equally to both luis and jaime. Perhaps, the website might consider to allow reviews per dealership per employee in the future.... More

In a few words: My experience with planet honda was unlike any I've ever had. My wife wanted to replace her old Hyundai Elantra for a Honda CRV (after some previous research, she decided to go to th unlike any I've ever had. Because it's close to Costco :P) Anyway, once we parked Paulette was already waiting for us (really nice person, on her particular way). She was the best rep. I have ever come into contact with, she went above and beyond, she made us feel like my wife and I were her only clients and when I or my wife had any questions she answered every single one of then and believe me we had a lot. Planet Honda is lucky to have someone like Ms. Cowan on their team. The negotiation process was a little bit sour (my wife is really good doing that!) because the sales manager (in the middle of the negotiation) left her talking by herself (I got really upset, I told her: "you know what Let's go!" - we were buying in cash in order to get a better price), but thanks to Paulette they didn't loss our business. Also, Delio Countinho on the finance department was SO NICE and patient, while working with us in getting ready my wife's new ride (by explaining some additional warranties and guiding us through all the paperwork). Thanks to Paulette and Delio efforts we didn't go to another dealer (Autosport Honda). And the end of the day (before we left the dealer), the sales manager gave us the last documents (signed by him) and was really nice, however I won't forget that thanks to his attitude towards my wife (probably a 2 minutes lack of attention - like Delio told us, apologizing on his behalf - Delio is what I call "someone who really wears the company's colors proudly", but I felt it like a Lack of respect) he almost lost us as customers. Anyway, my wife is happy with her new ride and I'm glad with the overall experience. I'll consider Planet Honda in my top 3 dealers when looking for my next ride. More
