Instead of showing total purchase price and interest rate, the finance man He was very knowledgeable about the truck. The finance process needs work. Instead of showing total purchase price and interest rate, the finance manager started with a well rehearsed sales pitch for add-one from the Allstate group and never disclosed the cost. Instead everything is focused on your “payment” with you never seeing the total cost of the truck or interest rate. Then a statement, “what if I could get you all this with it only raising your payment $11!” Mind you, to this point I have no idea the amount of interest decision. Once the interest rate was disclosed as almost 7% we negotiated it down to 4% but you are never given papers- instead there is a large screen monitor lying face down on the desk and the finance manager quickly adjusts the screen to bring up a signature block. I never saw the $5000 in add-on amounts until I printed out the documents at home later that evening from the flash drive I received! I went back to take delivery of the truck the next day and showed up 4 hours early before they opened to let him know we had a problem. The add-on agreements by their terms can be cancelled for 109% refund but if deal is done that money goods to lender but would not lower the payment. We negotiated quite heatedly and he removed all of the add-in’s but not before letting me know this was his “bread and butter” and how he “feeds his family”. I bought an $80,000 truck and if a dealer can’t figure profits into employees and instead they have to sell these add-ons then wow! Plus dealer charges $1800 on top of sticker price for application of some coatings to paint and upholstery. If you want a warranty on it it is an additional $1000! You can’t see it, smell it, or verify it - but you pay for it! Bizarre. Great truck, great salesman, horrible closing process. Fix it. More
