My family and I recently purchased a new Passat. Had a great time with our salesman. He was very professional, and funny. Made the whole experience very easy. Would recommend “Big Red” to anyone looking for a new vehicle. He’s got a really nice beard too 🤤

"BUYERS BEWARE OF PORT CHARLOTTE HONDA. DON’T BUY A HONDA. "

- JW

Went to Port Charlotte Honda and dealt with Joe in service department who was rude and lied to us. Before they worked on our car Joe assured me they would take care of us if the repair became an issue. He said our brand new starter was faulty and needed replaced. I said I find hard to believe the brand new Bosch starter is faulty and is having the exact same problem as the starter it replaced. After replacing the starter and repairing the battery management sensor both for a second time, we found online the faulty sensor and faulty Honda starters are a wide spread issue. Watch out for 2013-2016 Honda Accords. They have an issue with cars not starting after about 30,000 miles and a battery management sensor that corrodes and overheats possibly causing a fire. What they won’t admit is it seems to be related to cars not starting. There are a lot of complaints online and on YouTube about this issue. Honda and their dealers seem aware of these issues according to other complaints online, but are doing nothing about the faulty starters. Neither Honda nor the dealer are standing behind their faulty product. Especially watch for Joe in the service department, he will lie straight to your face and take your money with no apparent remorse. Honda reliability has significantly decreased. Fairly new cars with low miles can catch fire due to a faulty sensor and if your car doesn’t catch fire it will not start leaving you stranded. I would provide links but they are not allowed in the reviews. Google this information, you will find corroborating information on the internet. You can even find a lawsuit against Port Charlotte Honda for misleading lenders with fraudulent information and thus showing their questionable honesty.

Hi, I’m very sorry to hear about this. Honda’s tech support advised us on a recommended fix. We are sorry if something failed. We would be happy to hear more. Please contact Jamie Thompson, Service Manager. Also, we are not Charlotte Honda and have no association with Charlotte Honda except that we sell the same make and models at the same locatIon. We are Port Charlotte Honda which is owned and managed by a different company all together. We have been honored by Honda for Customer Satisfaction for the last three years in a row. While we are not perfect, we strive to be. Reach out to Jamie at your earliest convenience. Thank you.

Thank you for taking the time for the correction. Still not the same company though. We are not in any or have ever been in any lawsuit. That was a company called Charlotte Honda and not Port Charlotte Honda.

My experience at Charlotte Honda service department on 3/28/17 was a great one. I took my vehicle for a safety and Operational inspection .My service writer was Mr. Joe cordaro, he was truly helpful courteous and knowledge and got me in and out. I was impressed. Gary Wilson. Port Charlotte, FL.

"Incompetent Service Team"

- AFlick

I have been trying to get my car repaired properly since week one of owning it. Check Engine Light came on 3-4 days into driving it. Brought it in, they replaced cyl.2 glow plug and gave it back, light came right back on, brought it back, went 2 weeks with no communication and then I get the car back after they replace cyl. 2 glow plug and cyl 3 glow plug. After another week or two the light comes back on, I bring it back, they replace cyl 2 glow plug and try to give me back the car... I literally have to tell them to dig deeper and try something else because obviously something else is going on here. So 3 weeks of diagnostic time later, they give us back the car with cyl 2 glow plug replaced again, cyl 3 glow plug replaced again, and the glow plug wiring harness replaced. About a week later the light comes back on, code says "cyl 2 glow plug circuit malfunction" again. I call Service department and tell them the light is on again with the same trouble code but I am not bringing it in because it runs fine and they can't fix it anyways. 26k miles later the light starts flashing so I bring it in. They replace the cyl. 2 glow plug again, try to charge me for it, and act like they are doing me a favor when I finally get them to cover it. But they refuse to cover my 3 days of rental car use because they vehicle is "out of warranty". I confirmed with Dan that they do in fact have data logs from the onboard CPU that the same glow plug code has been continuously showing since the vehicle was under warranty, and his response was that "at some point you need to take ownership of your vehicle when there are this many miles on it" and "you could be using bad fuel" (Yeah because its so common for people to pour bad fuel into cyl. 2 only...) I would agree with that "taking ownership" statement 100% if it were a wear item, but glow plugs should last 150k miles, and these are clearly not worn glow plugs. I have been blamed for the incompetence of their technicians, and have been asked to pay for their inability to diagnose my vehicle's problem. If a technician is not capable of solving a problem, I don't hate him for it, but take responsibility for the shortcoming, don't try to blame me, do the right thing and cover the $150 rental car bill just like you would with any other warranty repair... Just a full year and a half of terrible service topped off with this final straw of being blamed for their incompetence.

Amanda - Again, I'm sorry for the problems you've been having with your vehicle. We did end up covering nearly $600 in parts and labor on your behalf even though the car is out of warranty. Thank you for taking the time to give us this feedback!

"extremely unhappy with sales but satisfied with service "

- chelsea

Purchased a vehicle from here less then 2 months ago from Roy was told we had to wait until the next day to pick up the vehicle so they could put a new compressor in for the ac. I was fine with that. Our salesman Roy decided to take a vacation after he got his cut from my car so he was gone and we had no clue what was going on with our vehicle. We waited a week before we could pick up the vehicle. The ac did not run cold. My boyfriend took a look and there was not a new compressor as promised by the sales manager. Also we only recived the valet key. Brought the car back and they fixed the ac but still no key. Called at least 10 times talked to roy and the sales manager and we're told they were going to get us a key that they would call back. Never received a call back. Completely unprofessional. When you buy a car for 12,000 you expect a key and you expect the car to work properly. Now less then 2 months after getting the car I need a new power steering hose. I brought it to service and was told it would be covered under the warranty I purchased. Then after waiting an hour I'm told I have to pay almost 400 to replace a hose. However Ian in service was very helpful and made sure I got a new key to my car free of charge. Only took him 10 mins to get a new key and having multiple phone calls ba k and forth from sales and never getting a key as promised. I would recommend the service department they properly fixed my car with slight delays out of reach from their control. Ian was very helpfull and did everything in his power to make sure I was a happy customer. I would not recommend this dealership for purchasing a vehicle.

"Super. Above Excellent."

- davidcj

I drove my Honda Fit from Cape Coral to the Dealership, Wednesday afternoon, 3/4/15. My OnStar equipment did not work. Keven met me and had the car looked at by their OnStar Specialist. I was told that they would need to keep the car overnight. I understood, because I arrived so late in the afternoon, Keven asked if i could come back Thursday, 3/5/24. I said that I could; however, because of my work, I could not be there until about 4:15 PM. Keven said that if that was okay with me, he would take care of me, at that time. Kevin was very apologetic, because the manager had to leave on an emergency, and there was no one that could approve a loaner car for me. My Honda Fit is still under warranty. So, when I came back Thursday afternoon, Keven took excellent care of my needs. He had a loaner car that I could use to get to work Friday, He assured me that OnStar would be fixed. When I returned Friday afternoon, the car was washed, fixed, and ready to go. I was treated respectfully, courteously, and satisfactorily. Kevin did a super job in handling my problem, I would highly recommend this Dealership to everyone. Ask for Kevin and find out for yourself. Thanks, Kevin!!! Keep a light on :fer" me. I'll be back!
