After telling him what type of vehicle we were looking for, once he found out our financing limits brought out the Outlander. We took it for a drive and at the 1st stop the brake pedal felt like it was going to the floor! Chad seemed un-concerned and attributed it to the diff feel of vehicle pedals and assured me there was nothing wrong with the brakes as they do a 127 point inspection on their vehicles. Upon finishing the test drive the brakes seemed to stop the car adequetly. After purchasing the car, on the way home the back brake started grinding when used. Made it home and called the next day as they were closed already, left a message as Chad was outside and heard nothing back. Called monday and Chad transfered me to service and we had to make another 95 mile round trip to Preston. Service dept. was excellent, replaced back right pads, no cost but never heard if the other 3 wheels were checked. I have 3 problems with Preston 1) once they found out our financing constrants they should've said ok, we can put you in X, Y, or Z vehicles as they have a 500+ car inventory. 2) After coming home and looking up the vehicle on KBB, I think we overpayed but that is our fault as we were in a bind and need a vehicle. 3) I also believe we got alot less for our trade than we should've. Again the KBB value was more than we got and that won't happen again. Overall, I have been driving 41 years and when I say the pedals going to the floor, I mean it any 127 point inspection should include checking the brakes and no one looked at the back brakes. The service dept. and Christina were excellent. She answered any questions I had and explained how to continue to improve our credit history. So, in a year or so when we are ready to move up in a vehicle, I will not rule out Preston for those reasons and for their huge vehicle inventory. My wife and I really liked the VW Bug, we got to look at the showroom cars real good as we were there 4 hours! More
