I went through the Costco Auto Program to find a 2026 Toyota Prius. I wanted the Prius in silver color, and, in the Limited trim level. At the time, the closest Costco authorized dealership that had this Toyota Prius. I wanted the Prius in silver color, and, in the Limited trim level. At the time, the closest Costco authorized dealership that had this specific car was Puente Hills Toyota, 30 miles away from me. I bought the car, on 7/6/2026, with some additional accessories. I chose to buy the accessories at the time due to the additional discounts involved since I have an executive Costco membership. The car was paid in full that evening, and, I had to return to the dealership the following Saturday to have the accessories installed. Days before my 7/11/2026 appointment, I noticed that a charge ($825.25) for a non-authorized accessory was included in the contract paperwork. Due to the 30 mile commute to the dealership, I told the dealership that I would not return (to have the accessories installed) unless if they issued a refund for the overcharge. For some reason, the dealership only offered a refund of $795.00. Since I was getting nowhere with the dealership, I reached out to Costco about this situation. After 3 1/2 weeks, Costco was able to have the dealership issue a refund check for the correct amount, including tax. I arrived at the dealership on the morning of 8/1/2026 to have the accessories installed. I also received the refund check for their overcharge. My car was ready in the late afternoon. But, I noticed that some of the accessories (notably the body side moldings) were not installed correctly. The service department was very apologetic. Since it was late in the day, I had to make another appointment to have everything corrected. I returned to the dealership on the morning of 8/8/2026. The service department made sure that the car's accessories were installed correctly. My car looked great when it was time to pick it up. The manager was very apologetic since I had to come back. Also, the manager had the gas tank filled up, which was a nice gesture. To summarize, I bought a car and the dealership snuck in a charge for an accessory that I repeatedly told them I did not want. They offered a refund, but, at the lower amount they charged. Costco had to intervene. Some accessories were not correctly installed. As a result, I had to make a second trip to their service department. I cannot recommend Puente Hills Toyota to anyone. More

Dealership sold a vehicle I had a $1,500 deposit on, then quoted me $2,870 more for the replacement. It took nearly four months and a third-party advocate to get them to honor their own written price. Placed the deposit 3/29/26 on a specific 2026 Sienna XLE after negotiating $48,500 in writing with the sales team. On 5/2 I got a text that the vehicle had arrived. The next day I was told by phone it had been sold to another buyer. I left a voicemail for the general manager and never received a call back. When I asked about compensation, Sales Manager Calvin Mann told me a deposit isn't a contract and declined to offer any. He committed in writing (to my Costco Auto Program representative) to order the same vehicle at the same price. A replacement was located in mid-May. I confirmed in writing on 5/20 that I'd take it at the committed $48,500. Three days later I was quoted $51,370 — full MSRP — for a vehicle that stickered $168 below my original one. Calvin reaffirmed his price commitment in writing to Costco on 5/24, but no confirmed price on an actual vehicle followed. Resolving it took a written ultimatum on 6/4: either a firm price on a located vehicle or a factory order confirmation, by a stated deadline. That produced written confirmation of the original $48,500 the same morning. The Costco Auto Program was told twice more, on 6/8 and 6/19, that formal written pricing would follow once a VIN was assigned. It never came — the price was only ever reconfirmed by text. At delivery on 7/18, I'd been told a personal check meant a credit check, and I approved it. What I wasn't told was that the contract presented to me for that payment method included financing terms on a cash purchase. I declined it, left to get a cashier's check at my own expense, and asked for the rideshare cost back. That request was acknowledged in writing and forwarded to the sales manager. Three weeks later, a $32 receipt on a $54,000 cash sale still hasn't been reimbursed. Danny Yu handled the pickup itself professionally. To be fair: the deal closed on 7/18 at the original $48,500, with no added dealer fees or packages. But it took nearly four months, a third-party advocate, and repeated written pressure to get a dealership to honor its own commitments on a deposited vehicle. If you're considering a deposit here, get everything in writing and expect to have to enforce it yourself. More
Extremely dissatisfied. I'm the owner of a 2023 Toyota Tacoma purchase at Puente Hills Toyota and all my service has been done at Puente Hills Toyota. This truck was purchas I'm the owner of a 2023 Toyota Tacoma purchase at Puente Hills Toyota and all my service has been done at Puente Hills Toyota. This truck was purchased brand new. Today my driver's side back passenger door handle fell off, just fell off. It wasn't hit. I wasn't in an accident. I don't have small children. And this truck is not my everyday vehicle. So when I opened the door and the handle was in my hand I was in SHOCK to say the least. This truck was purchased brand new from Puente Hills Toyota. So I immediately called the dealership and spoke with Lupe, who advised me to bring the car in if possible immediately she believed it was a factory defect. So within an hour, I arrived there to my appointment time and the intake Porter that took my general information was also quite fascinated by this bizarre occurrence. After getting my information he pointed me in the direction of Randy, who I have, unfortunately dealt with his rude & bad attitude in the past and I immediately asked if there anybody else and service drive porter said "unfortunately no sorry we're busy." I proceeded to work with Randy and immediately meet with attitude and after explaining the situation and we both went to the vehicle and he noticed there was no damage or anything after inspecting a handle he starts telling me with a rude condescending belittling attitude, "well it's gonna start at $250 to look at the truck". I asked "why"would that be? Basically he rambles on to tell me that they would have to take time out of their day to open up the door panel because more than likely the screw fell in there and they don't work for free. This kind of attitude is fair from customer service & it just floored me. For any car owner with a vehicle that's not even three years old yet to be told and act like this is "normal" that the door handle just falls off and have to pay $250 just to "see" what happened is beyond me. And to be met with such a rude attitude & disregard of common customer service is insane. Any person that's purchased a car knows that the "Service & Part" department is the "steak & potatoes" of any dealership ( FYI It is not sales). It is where the hopefully customer returns time & time again for the life of the vehicle in hopes of making continual money "Money"/business. I really do feel ripped off for an $8 dollar part (which it shows on my receipt cost , $8 dollars for a screw ) and completely disrespected as a human being. I know it's common for certain men to feel that women are beneath them and don't deserve an explanation or common courtesy and that's sad. But I will tell others of my experience 100 times to 100 and warn them to beware Service department at Puente Hills Toyota. because word-of-mouth advertisement is powerful and so is social media. We all work hard for our money to be treated like this is just not acceptable. More
