Worst experience, ever. I've been leasing cars ever since 2000. My cars varied between Hondas and Nissans. I needed a vehicle with more room and decided upon a Subaru Foreste I've been leasing cars ever since 2000. My cars varied between Hondas and Nissans. I needed a vehicle with more room and decided upon a Subaru Forester. I watched every YouTube video about the Forester and fell in love with them. I visited Rafferty and with the assistance of Ken Pino, test drove one. I was highly impressed! After that, I contacted every dealer within a 25 mile radius and shopped for price. Internet sales, from what I understand, account for a very high percentage of new car sales. And, of course, save lots of time and face to face time with sales people. I submitted my price proposal to Sales Manager Andy Rash and he accepted it. I gave Andy a $1000 deposit to hold the car in my name, which he did. I felt he gave me the very best deal out of everyone I contacted. And, Rafferty was the closest dealer to me. A win-win. I had to wait about 2-3 weeks for the car to come in since it was in transit. I got a call from Ken, on August 7 that the car arrived! We made arrangements for me to come the next day, the 8th, to pick it up. On the big day, I first returned my leased Honda and my wife drove me to Rafferty. That's when the fun began. Normally, since my out the door price was previously agreed upon, I wrongly thought that I'd simply sign the paperwork with the F&I person and away I'd go. But, prior to that, Ken Pino showed my some ridiculous price for the car instead of the agreed upon price. What? My blood pressure started rising and anger was building up inside me. Ken played the game of "let me talk to the sales manager." I sat for about 15 minutes before he returned. He said, "That's the best we can do." At this point, I really started to lose my temper. I am normally very laid back but this was turning out to be some sort of absurd experience. Ken even said, "If you don't want this car, I can sell it to at least three other people since it's a hard to get color." At some point (I was getting very loud,) Andy Rash came over to see what was going on. I showed him a copy of our email correspondence containing our agreement but it seemed he had no recollection of it. At this point, I really started to lose control of my emotions. Andy said that he was "ready to escort me out of the dealership" since I was at this point VERY loud. Should I stay and continue this or should I get up and leave? With all this commotion, Mr. Rafferty, one of the owners came over, and asked what was going on. I showed him the email correspondence with Andy. He stepped out of Mr. Pino's office to talk to Andy. Andy was very apologetic when he returned. He said he hadn't pulled my file when I arrived and that he wasn't really aware of the original deal we struck. Since Mr. Rafferty intervened, the rest of the process went smoothly. I sailed through F&I, got a briefing about all the tech features from a tech person, and I was on my way. Was all of this some sort of misunderstanding? I don't know. But, one thing for sure, I can't, in good conscience, recommend this dealership to anyone interested in a Subaru. More
Terrible Communication Took car in early AM for simple part replacement. Service center called late AM and said part had to be ordered, car would be ready by noon the next day. Noon the next day passed, no call. I called around 5 PM to find out what was up. Told me my service representative wasn't in today and that they still had to get the part and that car would be ready early next day. They then proceeded to attempt to upsell me on a variety of other services. Of course, car not ready the next day until mid afternoon. I had already adjusted my schedule for car to be done previous day. Terrible communication in letting me know status; I shouldn't have to call at 5 PM on the day I am to receive car back and be told another day. They also need to do a better job communicating "realistic" times as to when car would be done. Hey service center, some of us have to work and schedule things around our car being serviced!!!! More
Never again I made an online appt in advance for an oil change to skip the line. Only two guys seemed to be working while a group of employees crowded around the service area doing nothing. The Cashier asked for my pmt before ever telling me the total. I had to ask how much I was being charged and she struggled to operate the card reader so I will definitely be checking my bank statement. Overall first impression=bad. Won't be back here. More
Excellent response to my flat tire Service personnel were very responsive. Loaner provided right away so I could get to work. Tire was repaired, car was inspected, and oil was changed.
