Lest We Forget. I bought my first Subaru, a white, used Legacy sedan in 1993. I got a fantastic deal on it through a purchasing program that made finding the right car, for the right price easy. I practiced the Japanese martial art of Aikido at that time and my visiting Sempai (kind of like an older brother) had said that I needed a car that would be honorable when he and my Sensei were visiting. The Legacy was perfect. My second Subaru was a green 2001 Outback Sport. I had been struggling with PTSD for some time, then, and my dad helped me out by co-signing on the loan. I bought it on 9/12 2001. The President was urging people not to panic, and my dad - an Episcopalians Priest - understood that sometimes the best prayer requires action. I drove that car for 10 years; the engine was as good as a BMW; and it still purred in 2010. After moving from California to Virginia, again suffering from my PTSD, I bought a used red 2008 Forester. It drove comparable to the old Outback and handled my new lifestyle, just me and my dog Saige, just fine. When, by the grace of God I fell in Love with Mary Kay I needed a newer vehicle to handle the long trips I was making back and forth between Virginia and Pennsylvania. I traded in my manual Forester and bought another, looking almost the same - but this time an automatic. Each Subaru I had bought was better than the last and this proved again to be true. PTSD is difficult at times. At other times it disappears entirely into the background. When it came time to buy this new one, a crystal blue 2018 Forester Premium, I was going through a rough spell. It was 17 years to the day of 9/11. Rafferty Subaru had already won me over with their superlative service department. But Larry and Jim made my purchase on 9/12 of this year about the smartest thing I could do for myself. I believe I now have one of the best vehicles on the road. And that’s Peace-of-Mind. It’s worth a lot. One more thing though. My brother Rich is creative director for the Union of Concerned Scientists. In about the year 2000 he helped them, as editor, to design what they considered to be the Ideal Vehicle for the American Consumer. They took a 2000 Subaru Outback, gave it their specs, and published the results for American Automakers. Subaru simply makes Superior vehicles and I’m proud to now own my fifth. We live in a “very small world” in 2018, and free trade is an absolute necessity in my opinion. I would recommend a Subaru to anyone. For economy. For safety. For the Environment. And for the sheer pleasure of driving a finely crafted car. Thank you Rafferty Subaru. It was a pleasure to write this. Subaru’s are made with Love - and THAT’’S what got me though 9/11. Our sales rep Jean I’ve always heard good things about Rafferty Subaru and decided to check them out to purchase my next Subaru and I wasn’t let down. Our sales rep Jeanette was super friendly, helpful and knowledegable and very approachable, I came in on a Wednesday night and test drove a few cars until I found the right one but needed to handle a few personal things before I was able to pull the trigger on a new purchase, she understood and was willing to work with me and assured me I could get the car I wanted. She was willing to search around for the one that met my needs and get it in their lot if they didn’t have it. When I was able to purchase my new outback she had everything set up and made it a quick and easy process. I highly recommend her for your Subaru needs! More

Prior to coming to Rafferty, I had purchased an STI from another dealer, but ended up having to return it due to some issues they could not address. Rafferty was very understanding of the situation I was in and sympathetic. They genuinely wanted me to have a better experience with them. I feel like they delivered well. When it was time for me to pick the car up, all of the paperwork and logistics were already worked out. The process was super quick and painless. I am really happy with the car and Jeanette’s customer service. They are a very pleasant dealer to work with. I do think that they lowballed me on my trade and that they could’ve come down a bit more on the car I purchased, but that’s my only negative comment. Everything else was really excellent. I would definitely recommend buying a vehicle from Rafferty solely based on customer service of the sales and finance people. More
