Brought my Sierra in for oil change, tire rotation, and because it's been having sluggish starts this week. I literally discussed the timing / time of day for the slow starts with the service rep when I called. I dropped it off Friday and did not hear back all day, even though I was told I would get a call before anyone did anything to the battery. I called Saturday morning and the truck was ready to be picked up, but no one could tell me what (if anything) they did for the sluggish starts. I picked it up and the service rep could only tell me that the service sheet said "check customer's battery", which he claims they did. When I asked what about the sluggish starts he told me all they did was check the battery because that's all that was written on the service sheet, and he did not have any techs available to look at it that day. So I took the truck home, the oil life meter on the dashboard had not been reset and it was still sluggish to start, parking break was set, seat was not auto-adjusting, etc. All the same starting issues as before I dropped it off. They had to move the truck at least once so they had to notice these starting issues. I got the truck home and checked it out myself. It turns out one of the battery terminal connections was loose. I tightened it up myself and no more starting issues. So they clearly did not even check the battery or they would have noticed the loose terminal. At this point I have no confidence that they even changed the oil or rotated the tires. I have brought this truck here multiple times over the past 5 years and never had an experience this bad. More

PLEASE read my entire experience at Rainbow GMC before deciding to visit. I purchased a 2021 GMC Yukon from them. First time I looked at the vehicle was night time, drove it, didn’t get a large amount deciding to visit. I purchased a 2021 GMC Yukon from them. First time I looked at the vehicle was night time, drove it, didn’t get a large amount of time to throughly check it out, but my wife and I really liked it. I went back a few days later to sign paperwork and finalize the deal. I told myself to do one more walk around the truck before signing papers. I walked around the truck with it running and heard a tick from the engine. As an owner of an automotive repair facility, I knew exactly what the noise was. The camshaft & lifters needed to be replaced. I called the salesman, who then called the sales manager and had them listen to the noise and they second guessed me but finally said they would bring it to service. Service department called me the next day saying I was correct the camshaft & lifters needed to be replaced. A week later the truck is ready, I go Halloween night to take possession of the vehicle, I get about 20 miles from the dealership on the interstate and the truck kills on me, I call the dealership and they send a tow truck and put me back in our trade in. I get a phone call 2 days later stating the battery was bad. Suspicious, I loaded my family up and left. We didn’t make it a mile before the vehicle did the SAME EXACT THING. Again put us back in our trade in. I told them I need to be put in something comparable to what we bought. They didn’t want to hear it and brushed me off. I told them about the recall on the engines and they said they will try. Few days later I get a call stating it’s needs an engine but the engine is 3 months out! I told them I don’t want the vehicle, they stated the deal had been funded and there was nothing they could do. So now my family and I are stuck in our trade In (a smaller vehicle), waiting for our vehicle to be fixed. A month goes by and I get a call the engine came in and truck is ready to go. I go pick it up and everything seems fine. My wife drives it for 2 days and air conditioning quits working. I called and told them I would be bringing it to my shop to look at it have my techs diagnose it, I was told “great because I’m sure the technicians here don’t want to see that truck again” I was thinking “wow how unprofessional of a comment” even though I will NEVER bring my vehicle back to rainbow gmc after what my technicians found. The mount that holds the compressor was completely loose, the bolts were missing!!! This caused the plug that goes into the ac compressor to rip and shred the wires. This is extremely dangerous and could have caused additional issues if I didn’t catch it soon enough. My skid plate bolts underneath the truck were missing, there is six total and I only had two holding it on. I have pictures and video of all of this. I sent it to my salesman and never heard back. He said someone from management would reach out and I haven’t heard a thing from anyone. This dealership has been an absolute nightmare from day one. The customer service, financing to service department, all horrible, communication between each department is lacking. Lack of communication with me as a customer. Please Please! do yourself a favor and do NOT WASTE your valuable time at Rainbow GMC. There are plenty of other dealerships that will sincerely appreciate your business and provide you with the customer service experience you deserve! More
