Quick and efficient; Suggestion to improve functioning. LONG STORY ALERT - I’ve been having my car serviced here for a few years now. Each time I bring my car in for service, I am told of at least one unexpected repair “needed” for my car. Most times I feel like for a few years now. Each time I bring my car in for service, I am told of at least one unexpected repair “needed” for my car. Most times I feel like they add-on these repairs because I am a woman and they take advantage of my lack of knowledge of cars. (They’re the same as every other dealership service that I’ve ever been to.) This time (on Nov 2019) , in addition to the repair for the reason I brought my car in, the tech noticed 2 other repairs “needed”. All 3 repairs was going to cost >$2000. So I did my usual song-and-dance with the service rep (I can’t remember his name so let’s just call him Chris) and asked Chris which ones were the most urgent and asked him to tell me why. After years of doing this routine, I usually get an idea of which repairs are truly needed. I decide to do 2 out of 3 repairs. In addition, I asked that an oil change be done and my front wipers be replaced (just my front wipers). I am given a loaner (it’s a Friday morning) and I’m told most likely the repairs will take until Monday. So I take the loaner and fill it up with gas thinking I would have it for the weekend, but then I get a call in the late afternoon on Friday that repairs are complete. So I rush to Ramsey service before they close. Chris left for the day, so another rep helped me. As I look through the charges, I notice the discounts that Chris promised for doing multiple repairs and for filling up the loaner gas tank (thank you!). However I also noticed that I was charged for a back wiper even though Chris confirmed only the front wipers were changed when he called to let me know my car was ready. When I asked the 2nd service rep about it, she said she knew nothing about it. She assumed the wiper was replaced if it’s on the bill, and since the tech has probably left for the day, she can’t confirm. So I decide to let it go. As I say that, she makes a joke about bushings (which were replaced so it makes me wonder if that service was really needed) and jokes about slapping Chris’ hand when he’s back to work for forgetting to tell me about the back wiper. Then the next day, it rains. I use my wipers. The front wipers worked great. The back wiper did not. It was not changed. I call Chris and he doesn’t believe me that the back wiper hasn’t been changed and he no longer remembers confirming only the front wipers were changed. He wants me to drive 30-40 minutes back to Ramsey so he can confirm. I refuse and suggest that they change the back wiper for no charge next time I bring my car in for service. Chris tells me that he will probably not remember and he will need me to remind him. It wasn’t Ramsey Subaru service’s best customer service and I was very disappointed. On the positive side, my car drives great after the repairs. That’s the reason for 3 stars. More
