Philip Fried and I narrowed down what we were looking for to 2 vehicles: another used Volvo V70 (ideally 2008) or possibly the new VW diesel wagon. With our 2 cats overheated in our truck in the unseasonably hot weather, we made one last stop on our way to the country, at Ramsey Volvo where we got our current 1998 V70. John Montenegro listened to our request for a 2008 V70, said he had one and let us test drive it. It was a quiet ride, but Philip didn't like the look of it and it felt big. During the drive John asked if we were considering any other car; we mentioned the VW diesel wagon because of the superior mileage, adding that we don't like the Cross Country and don't need AWD. He pointed out a new V50 on the showroom floor, only one on the lot, saying the size was probably comparable to the VW diesel and that the mileage was better than a V70 or a Cross Country. If we were really interested, he would take it off the showroom floor and let us test drive it, too. We hadn't considered it (in Consumer Reports it was rated last in wagons, mainly because information about it was not available), but Philip liked how sporty it looked (we'd always admired the Mini, but knew we needed more room than that) and the improved mileage it got. It handled well and had the USB port (for my iPod) and Bluetooth capability of the VW diesel. Then John sat us down and came up with an attractive price (not too much more than the new VW diesel) which struck us as the best of both worlds: better mileage, more compact, but sufficent space in the rear plus it was a Volvo - what we consider a better-made and better-quality car than a VW. We didn't feel like shopping any more, online or otherwise, and said we'd take it, despite the fact that we hadn't set out to buy a new car (this is our first). Let's face it, we're Volvo kind of guys and have been happy with our 1998 V70 which we purchased slightly used (15,ooo miles on it) at Ramsey Volvo. Why not keep it in the family. Oh, and one more thing. John invited us to bring our 2 sweltering cats inside the air conditioned showroom, before our 2nd test drive, to get them out of the heat. He understood they're family, too. I don't know how much, but that little kindness made a difference. Hospitality is not dead. Let's hear it for civilized treatment. More

As part of the negotiations process I requested that my used vehicle be inspected by another dealer in the Ramsey Auto Group. Everyone who helped me at Ramsey Volvo went above and beyond to give me exceptional service and meet my needs when looking for a new car. This was my first leasing experience and Gary and Frank both mad beyond to give me exceptional service and meet my needs when looking for a new car. They worked hard to get me a car that was safe and reliable and that I really wanted for a price that matched my budget. Immediately after picking up my new vehicle, my engine light turned on and would not go off. Once again, everytime I called or emailed either of them about how to solve this issue, they were extremely helpful in instructing me how to handle it and the cause of it. It was a simple computer issue that was fixed promptly by the service department. I have had my car for about 7 months now and am extremely pleased with how wonderful a vehicle it is and the service I receive from everyone whether it's the parts and service departments when I receive maintenance or the the service I received from the sales department, particularly Gary and Frank, when leasing my vehicle. I have highly recommended Ramsey Volvo to anyone I know who is looking for a new vehicle, as I recommend it to everyone who reads this review, and will continue to do so. More

Experience with Ramsey Volvo was good. No problems with the car (2010 C70) yet. Other Volvo dealers in area did not have this model car, so dealer choice was limited. Only complaint is I should have done better research on the car (2011's were coming out)-reason for incentive + discount. Wish the dealer had told my wife and myself this, so we could of made a decision between the '10 or the '11. So I learned next time to be better prepared. More
