I'VE AVOIDED THE DEALER VS CUSTOMER BUYING EXPERIENCE FOR SEVERAL YEARS BECAUSE OF THE BAD EXPERIENCE ASSOCIATED WITH THIS RELATIONSHIP, OPTING TO BUY MY VEHICLES FROM PRIVATE OWNERS. HOWEVER MY RECENT PURC SEVERAL YEARS BECAUSE OF THE BAD EXPERIENCE ASSOCIATED WITH THIS RELATIONSHIP, OPTING TO BUY MY VEHICLES FROM PRIVATE OWNERS. HOWEVER MY RECENT PURCHASE OF MY 2004 LEXUS FROM RAYSKILLMAN WESTSIDE AUTO WAS A PLEASANT EXPERIENCE. THE ATMOSPHERE WAS DEVOID OF HIGH PRESSURE. I LIKE THAT. MY WIFE AND I WAS GIVEN AMPLE TIME TO DISCUSS OUR DECISION TO PURCHASE. WHEN I FIRST VISITED RAY SKILLMAN 4 YRS AGO, I HAD TRIED EVERY CAR PLACE AROUND AND NO ONE COULD GET ME FINANCED! I WAS UPSIDE DOWN IN THE CAR THAT I WAS PAYING ON AND THE TRANSMISSION WAS GOING OUT, I HAD EVERY CAR PLACE AROUND AND NO ONE COULD GET ME FINANCED! I WAS UPSIDE DOWN IN THE CAR THAT I WAS PAYING ON AND THE TRANSMISSION WAS GOING OUT, I HAD TO HAVE A RELIABLE CAR SOON SO I COULD GET TO AND FROM WORK. MY CREDIT DEFINITLY WASNT THE GREATEST EITHER, SO I WAS HOPING AND PRAYING THAT RAY SKILLMAN COULD DO SOMETHING FOR ME AND THEY DID...EVEN MORE THAN I EXPECTED! THEY GOT ME INTO A BRAND NEW CAR 2007 SUZUKI. I WAS VERY GRATEFUL! BUT, RECENTLY I WAS PROMOTED IN MY JOB, AND I NEEDED A VEHICLE THAT COULD GET THROUGH THE WINTER SAFELY. I KNEW THE PLACE TO TURN TO WAS RAY SKILLMAN ONCE AGAIN. JARED STEVENSON LET ME KNOW UP FRONT THAT HE COULDNT MAKE ME ANY PROMISES DUE TO MY CREDIT AND AND HAVING SO MUCH NEGATIVE EQUITY BUILT UP ON MY CAR, BUT HE WOULD DO EVERYTHING IN HIS POWER TO TRY TO GET ME WHAT I NEEDED! HE WORK DILIGENTLY ON TRYING TO FIND A BANK TO FINANCE ME AND IT WASNT LOOKING GREAT BUT FINALLY HE CALLED ME AND SAID "IF YOU CAN WORK WITH ME TO GET ME A DOWN PAYMENT, THEN I THINK I CAN MAKE SOMETHING HAPPEN", AND I AGREED! I LEFT EVERYTHING UP TO HIM...ALL I ASKED FOR WAS AN SUV TYPE WITH ALL WHEEL DRIVE. NEXT THING I KNOW JARED CALLED ME AND TOLD ME TO COME CHECK OUT MY NEW CAR! WHEN I WALKED UP TO THE SHOWROOM DOOR THERE WAS A LIGHT BLUE 2008 CRYSTLER PACIFICA SITTING AT THE FRONT WITH A BIG GOLD BOW AND A BOUQUET OF ROSES SITTING IN THE FRONT SEAT. I SAW JARED WALKING UP AND HE SAID "HOW DO YOU LIKE IT"? I THOUGHT HE WAS KIDDING, UNTIL HE TOLD ME "GET IN SO WE CAN TAKE A RIDE"! I LOVED IT AND I DROVE AWAY WITH IT THAT DAY! Greg has worked with me and my mother for the last three years. My husband was stationed overseas and our Kia went with us to Germany. When I had problems with my Kia, the Germans refused to service it and years. My husband was stationed overseas and our Kia went with us to Germany. When I had problems with my Kia, the Germans refused to service it and I ended up working w/ Greg over the phone. My mom would go and pick up parts from him and mail them to me so my Husband could work on the Van. Greg was wonderful! Whenever I called and needed him and he wasn't available, the other people would get him a message and he would call me back on our American phone line. He always returned my calls. We arrived back in the States just a few weeks ago. I brought the van in to be serviced on some issues that we couldn't fix overseas. Greg, Justin and Jim were fabulous. Very courteous, understanding and helpful. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR TIME AND THOUGHTFULNESS. I will definitely be back for service when needed. More
During two visits to this dealership while working out the details of our purchase of an Elantra Limited, we were treated extremely well. Nate Olson was very knowledgeble on the vehicle and went out of his way to explain all the features that were a little intimidating at first. He also made us feel like we had known him for a long time, which was not the case at all. We met most, if not all of the key personnel at the dealership and will feel comfortable contacting any of them should the need arise. We will also feel comfortable recommending this dealership and Nate to our friends. We are now classified as senior citizens, and as such, have bought a few cars over the years. This was the most pleasant experience of all. More
I have worked with Ray Skillman before and had a difficult experience but they were easy to work with and did right by me. Wanted to express my thanks for the time spent with my daughter and me. Shopping for a car is a major investment and working within a budget is very important and this is one reason we were looking at the daughter and me. Shopping for a car is a major investment and working within a budget is very important and this is one reason we were looking at the Accent instead of a slightly larger vehicle. My daughter has never purchased a new car and being a single parent with four children means that she has to feel comfortable with her decision. After shopping around we decided to look at the KIA and was greeted by Avery Lyons. He never said anything negative about any of the automobiles (other manufactures) we had looked at but simply pointed out the features of the KIA. At one point he stated, "he was not trying to sell us a car but was there to assist us in buying a car". One of the items Avery pointed out was the warranty on both KIA and Hyundai and we quickly realized this was a major selling point. Avery was very knowledgable of not only the KIA but also many of the other makes and models. After this visit we did more research on the KIA and Hyundai (both being Skillman owned). We visited the Hyundai dealership a few days later and was helped by Jeff Polley. Jeff was very personable and friendly. He arrange for us to test drive the Accent and made sure we understood the automobile's features. Very easy to work with and seemed to take a personal interest in helping us find the right car. We later agreed on purchasing the Accent and was told that Avery Lyons would assist us when we signed the paperwork. When Jeff explained that Avery would be involved (even though he was at KIA) spoke volumns about the integrity of the organization, giving credit to the initial salesman. I have been impressed with the people I have met at Skillman's (KIA and Hyundai). Those individuals we have talked to have been courteous, polite, and helpful (not pushy) and I really appreciate working with people like this. Both Avery and Jeff are top notch! Marc Dardeen More
