Poor dealer sales policies My purchase of a KIA Forte started as a referral from COSTCO. Initially, the model I wanted to purchase seemed to be going well. However, my wife wa My purchase of a KIA Forte started as a referral from COSTCO. Initially, the model I wanted to purchase seemed to be going well. However, my wife wanted a white version. The white model was more expensive due to additional options - which was OK. The purchase went downhill because of dealer added costs of $2,899.00: A lifetime power train warranty which started after the car was 10 years old (and required inspections as the car aged), service loaners, pin stripe, lifetime nitrogen tire fill, 24 hour roadside assistance and free car wash with service. I regret not walking out. I wanted none of these add-ons. Granted the minimal pin striping was already on. So what would the striping (which were most likely be decals) be worth? I live an hour and a half away and I am in New England 5 months a year so the other add-ons were useless. Much arguing later, the dealer add-on costs were reduced by approx. $1,450.00 (a $500 bump-up in my trade in value and about $900.00 reduction for the dealer add-ons). Again, I should have walked out, but my wife wanted the white model. Fadhil came out and asked me if I had been helped and from there it was an exciting experience. Fadhil worked hard to get me into the new Kia that worked with my budget.
