Intimidation Tactics We went into Rick Case Hyundai in Plantation to buy a new Tucson. The sales rep we had, J.D. Morales, was extremely friendly. We knew we wanted a Tu We went into Rick Case Hyundai in Plantation to buy a new Tucson. The sales rep we had, J.D. Morales, was extremely friendly. We knew we wanted a Tucson and were willing to buy used. They said a 30% down payment was needed with all used car purchases. Now, I've bought used cars in the past and I've never had to pay 30% down. Then they told us that none of the 2016 Tucsons were available in my price range, BUT they could get me financing for a 2017 SANTA FE. When I obviously wasn't going for that, a 2016 Tucson miraculously appeared within my price range. I was given a paper with a quote that said "VIP Customer" written across the top. When they realized that I was going to keep shopping around, the sales manager (name started with a J) came over and said in a very stern voice, "I'm going to have to take that paper." I said sure, but after I take a picture. He continued, "Well, there's nothing important on that paper. That offer is only good right now. I don't want you coming back and being upset when you don't get that price." He proceeded to rip the paper into pieces in front of me and said, "You think you're going to get a better price anywhere else?" Now, at this point I was so turned off by the intimidation tactic that this man used, that there was no way that I was ever going to give him my money. Instead of this nightmare, I went to Delray Hyundai and had a wonderful experience purchasing my new car. Rick Case was rude, high pressure, and downright disrespectful. More
