I brought my car in for a new battery, which was covered under warranty. The car is 2 years old with 19k miles on it. It took 3.5 hours (granted I didn't have an appointment, but this isn't something you re under warranty. The car is 2 years old with 19k miles on it. It took 3.5 hours (granted I didn't have an appointment, but this isn't something you really make an appointment for when your battery dies). The service advisor, who's name was Karim made me sign an acknowledgement that if something was found that was not covered under warranty, then I would have to pay the "Diagnostic Fee" of $176.50. When my car was finished, the service advisor came out and told me the battery was covered, but then said a fuse had to be replaced and that was not covered. A $1 fuse had to be replaced, and they are trying to get $176 out of me?! Also the fuse WAS covered under warranty! This was absolutely unacceptable and dishonest that the service advisor (Karim) was trying to make a quick commission off of something that was covered under warranty. I asked to speak with a manager, but was told he was in a meeting. He ended up letting me go without having to pay after he said he "called the manager..." Yeah ok... Take your car to another Hyundai Dealer if you need something done under warranty. If it's not something warranty related, save yourself time, money and hassle and go anywhere else besides a dealership. More
