Bait and Switch - Lying Sales Associates I recently had a horrible experience at Right Honda in Scottsdale. I received a mailer that offered a free oil change with a test drive. I thought, “H I recently had a horrible experience at Right Honda in Scottsdale. I received a mailer that offered a free oil change with a test drive. I thought, “How perfect! I need a new car and my wife’s Odyssey needs an oil change.” I called and spoke with a sales associate. We made an appointment for me to bring the minivan in the next day and for me to test drive an Accord. I made sure to get confirmation that the oil change would be done while I was working with the sales person. However, the next day at the dealership, the associate rushed me out to the new vehicles. I said, “Shouldn’t we get the van into service? You said the oil change would be done while I was looking at new cars.” He replied that the offer required that I complete a credit application AND agree to purchase a vehicle. That was not mentioned anywhere on the mailer or during the previous night’s phone call. He was outright lying to me. Additionally, the manager was inflexible, too, even though I had the coupon in my hand! The sales associate was so disgustingly pushy and ignored my wife’s minivan that I stopped him, got into the minivan, and drove out of the lot, promising myself that - despite how close Right Honda is to my house - I would drive ANYWHERE else in the Valley to purchase a new Honda. More
