The used vehicle was as advertised. The intial sales representative, Max, was very pleasant to deal with. The transaction took about 3 hours. One big thing could have been better. The dealer marked up the cost of this used vehicle with about $1400 in overpriced additions such as window tinting, door edge guards, door handle cup protection, etc., which I personally would value at less than $500. At least this was listed in the advertisement, so I was forewarned. The most egregious unexpected addon was nearly $2000 for an alarm system. So, I had to spend most of an hour haggling with the sales closer (and his manager) to get the overall price down to what I was willing to pay. This routine is the primary reason I don't like going to dealers, but I've found that it's the way most still operate. However, I was pleased that when I went to the finance department, the paperwork I was asked to sign exactly reflected the negotiated price so I didn't have to start the haggling all over again. This review is written to advise others that the sales tactics employed by a sales manager name Sam on the evening of December 29, 2023 were insulting and disingenuous. My daughter was looking for a CR-V tactics employed by a sales manager name Sam on the evening of December 29, 2023 were insulting and disingenuous. My daughter was looking for a CR-V hybrid vehicle and she determined that she like the meteoric gray model with black interior but the dealership only had a vehicle with a gray interior. Sam mentioned that since the vehicle was not exactly what she wanted that he would give her an amazing deal because the dealership had "dealer cash", but wanted to ensure that she would purchase if the deal was good. She signed a commitment statement to that effect. When Sam returned, he said the vehicle price was $41,175 MSRP plus $3,244.50 plus a $3,775 upcharge for a chip shortage, and with her 2009 CRV trade-in the cost out the door was about $50,653. After hearing that offer, I told Sam that this is not a good or amazing deal, and that I was insulted. Sam responded with what I would pay for it and I told him that I did not know. Since I had looked at the website with the vehicle listing and discount, I referred him to the website that showed the discount on the vehicle. He was not responsive to the amounts shown on the website. I also said the $3,775 upcharge is not shown on the website and he clicked the disclosure section which has disclaimer language. I honestly felt that when Sam had an amazing deal that it would be amazing not insulting. When someone says that they will work to get you an amazing deal and offers you an inflated proposal, that is disingenuous. I would recommend not purchasing a vehicle at Right Honda because the sales managers, at least Sam, will tell you that they will work for you and then not follow through. Also, my daughter had received correspondence from Shayne Fowler, the General Sales Manager that says come on in and see him, but that did not happen. I doubt anyone can see Shayne since he is over everyone. If Shayne was a part of this shady sales practice, then shame on Shayne. I do want to say that the lot sales person, Eli, was 5 star showing us the vehicle and talking to us with a sense that we were people and not idiots. The sales tactics employed by Sam were disappointing. I doubt anyone can get an amazing or good deal at Right Honda. More
