He was informative without having a sales person attitude, my experience here was not rushed nor did I feel pushed to make a decision. He was also efficient with my time and introduced me to a number of other specialist on the lot whom all treated me like an old friend. I bought a beautiful Hyundai Electra with a three year warranty and was very satisfied with my experience and my car. I would highly recommend this location to anyone, they care about your experience and you walk out feeling like you just bought a car that is guarantee to work and that's very reliable. Ask for the Carfax for any vehicle you are interested in, which gives you its history, any accidents, etc. Get the dealer service record if it is a Certified Toyota vehicle, which shows what they did to it in order to prepare it for certification. Tonkin willingly provided that information to me. Then be prepared to bargain. You must be prepared to leave if you can't live with their final price. It is an adversarial process, but it can also be a friendly one. Only one minor problem in the five days I've had my car. When I drove the certified 2010 Toyota Sienna before buying it, the tire pressure light stayed on. Tonkin fixed it before I test drove it. Driving home after I bought it, the light came on again. We were already leasing a Scion and coming to the end of our lease. We wanted to sell our vehicle and lease a new model Scion. We found Ron Tonkin Toyota and made intitial contact with Vlado Baturan. Vlado was respectful, helpful, and efficient in all his communication and efforts. Most of our communication was via phone and email and he was always very clear and honest in all of his instructions and negotiations. We were very impressed and appreciative of his integrity! He was off work the day we had available to drive to Portland to finalize the paperwork and exchange vehicles. He transitioned us to Ali Rahima. Ali also communicated with us via email before arriving in Portland. Ali was equally respectful, helpful, and efficient in all his communication. When we arrived at Ron Tonkin Toyota, Ali was waiting outside next to our new vehicle, which was parked in front of the building. We had informed him via email that we only had a very limited time available to finalize the transaction. Ali immediately set to work to complete all processes involved in purchasing our old vehicle and establishing the lease for the new vehicle. While we were waiting for document preparation, Ali was going over warranty information, service features, and even transferred our plates from our old vehicle to the new vehicle. We had a wonderful conversation with him during the short wait time! The finance staff were wonderful, fast, and efficient! Overall, it was an outstanding experience and we recommend Ron Tonkin Toyata to anyone and everyone who is interested in purchasing a Toyota vehicle. St. Helens and it drove perfectly. We would recommend Mohamed to anyone, he was great. I do have one complaint...I was told that if I go online and fill the financing info prior to coming in to purchase the vehicle, we would be in and out in less than 40 minutes. We went online filled out the financing info, we had a pre-approved loan from OnPoint and it still took more than 3 hours to purchase the car. This was not in any a reflection of Mohamed. We came in on a Friday morning, we had made the offer and our offer was accepted the previous evening. There were several manager present at the dealership, apparently they were in a meeting. We waited and waited, and waited and waited. 3 hours later they were down with their meeting and from that point it only took about 30 mintues to get our vehicle. I personally think this is unacceptable. You have someone waiting, someone you told a timeframe, a paying customer, and you jut make them keep waiting. Several times we wanted to get up and walk out due to waiting, the only reason we stayed is because we didn't want to do that to Mohamed. This is a very bad reflection on managers and very poor customer service. I would have given all fives, the lower marks have nothing to do with Mohamed and everything to do with the purchasing experience and the wait time at the end. More
