On June 24, 2025, I purchased a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe Overlander from Route 18 Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram, 400 NJ-18 Suite A, East Brunswick, NJ 08816. Since purchase, this vehicle has exhibited multipl 4xe Overlander from Route 18 Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram, 400 NJ-18 Suite A, East Brunswick, NJ 08816. Since purchase, this vehicle has exhibited multiple serious defects that directly compromise safety. Despite repeated attempts, both the dealership and the manufacturer, FCA/Stellantis, have refused to provide effective repairs or honor warranty obligations. The most significant defect involves the air conditioning and HVAC/defrost system. After approximately 20–30 miles of driving, the system stops cooling and begins blowing only hot air. This prevents the windshield from defrosting or defogging, especially in humid or cold conditions, creating a dangerous reduction in visibility. At times, the blower fails altogether, leaving the vehicle with no functioning HVAC system. This is not an isolated occurrence: numerous reports from other 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe owners confirm identical failures. FCA/Stellantis has acknowledged a related problem under NHTSA Recall which identifies HVAC blower motor failure as a safety hazard, yet my case has been ignored. The second major safety issue involves the Head-Up Display (HUD) mirror assembly. This mirror is mounted into the dashboard as part of the HUD system, but it has been improperly installed and misaligned. As a result, it casts a strong, unwanted glare and reflection directly into the operator’s forward line of sight through the windshield. The problem is persistent and cannot be corrected by any adjustment available to the driver. The defect creates serious visibility hazards in multiple conditions, including: Driving under streetlights, tunnel lights, and bridge lights where overhead illumination reflects onto the HUD mirror and projects into the windshield. Daytime driving when the sun’s angle hits the HUD mirror and causes intense reflections. Night driving when artificial lighting from city streets or approaching vehicles strikes the HUD mirror. In all of these scenarios, the HUD mirror catches light from above and reflects it directly into the driver’s view, creating a distracting and blinding visual obstruction. This defect is not only inconvenient but dangerous, as it compromises the driver’s ability to maintain clear forward visibility at critical times. Together, these two defects—the HVAC/defrost failure and the misaligned HUD mirror glare—render the vehicle unsafe for use. A driver cannot reliably keep the windshield clear in changing weather conditions, nor can they maintain unobstructed visibility under everyday lighting environments. I have repeatedly reported these conditions to the dealership and to FCA/Stellantis, but my concerns were either dismissed as “no problem found” or ignored altogether. Despite being aware of ongoing recalls and widespread consumer complaints, Jeep has refused to provide an adequate repair, replacement, or repurchase. 2 years no car. It has been in the shop waiting for a resolution. More
